I've got a VGN-S94S bought from Japan several months ago.

Today, out of nowhere a small chunk of something has floated up and stuck to the inside of my TFT. My guess is that is has been inside there all along, but fate decided today it would rear it's head.

If I look closely I can see that it is not infront of the TFT elements, but actually behind it, like perhaps it has stuck to the mylar surface between the backlight and the screen.

I am now in New Zealand, so will have to fork over $$$ to fix a Sony manufacturing screw up.

I am tempted to crack the screen open myself, but I just wondered if anyone knows whether or not TFT is sealed with the backlight within it, or will I able able to get easy access to the area between the backlight and the back of the screen.

    Anyone know?
