I've been debating whether to get the new customized FZ190 or to get a refurbished SZ330. Theres a price difference of $100, the SZ costing more when all of the customizable options on the FZ match the SZ. I don't know much about laptops on the inside, but I do like how the SZ is small, but looking at the dimensions the FZ doesn't seem that much larger.

Overall, would the refurbished SZ330 be worth that extra $100, vs the FZ190? Also, what exactly does this refurbished entail? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum!

IMO, I would think SZ is a more desirable laptop and the smaller the laptop is, the more expensive it is!

I've been leaning towards the SZ and fighting to find one that will be under $2000 after insurance and tax but of course that cheaper FZ keeps catching my eye. I wouldn't mind spending $100 for the extra portability, but I think the fact it is refurbished and not brand new as the FZ would be is what is putting me off at the moment.

Well I gave in and bought the refurbished SZ with 2 yr express ship service plan + tax + ground shipping for a total of $2019.54. Really hurts, but atleast I have a year to pay it off and a new flashy toy to show off :) Thanks all who have helped me on these forums!

You've made the smartest move! If SZ is only $100-200 more than FZ, I think most people will choose SZ over FZ.

You get what you paid for, SZ is no doubt a more desirable choice. Welcome to the SZ club :D

Let us know your experiences with the refurbished SZ! People ask about experiences with them all the time, and it'd be nice to be able to refer others onto your experiences!

    Congrats on your purchase!

I would have gone with the FZ just because of the Santa Rosa platform. Although, I do agree the SZ series is much more requested.
