not really, if you check their sources, notebookreview isnt listed

Engadget got their info from SonyInsider.net and that website got the TT name and Monday launch date from Nixon in this forum thread. SonyInsider found the FCC documents though.
-
Hmmmmmmmm Either the TT or the Z or the N10
-
-
should be interesting to see how they will make the TT even sexier than the TZ
-
thats like trying to make megan fox hotter which im sure can be done

So for sure we have:Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth e 3G/EVDO (Europe 3G/HSDPA), LCD da 11.1 pollici, and quite sure SSD. Me too I would like HDMI but I think would go in contrast with the Z series if they put it. Back-lit keyboard was the only think missing from the TZ, hopefully TT will have this option. Can't wait to see the battery life of this lappy...with the extended will be at least 15hrs. -
i would like to see the 3G in the australian versions but i doubt this will happen. SSD for sure, but i do hope there is still a lower price point with the HDD - maybe 160GB 5400rpm?
and aesthetically - completely white - even the battery. -
Is this information supposed to come out monday US time or Japan time or what?
-
^ I was just going to ask the same Q because it's Monday now...?
-
I do wonder what region the TT will be announced in first. The Vaio TZ was first announced on the Japanese SonyStyle website but the Vaio FW/SR/Z were announced in the U.S first and didn't come to the Japanese site until a few days later.
-
UK will be last as usual then
-
To be honest, it's pretty dumb that I'm excited to see a product that I have no intention of buying since I plan to keep my TZ for the next 2 years at least. Especially since I paid for 3 years worth of insurance for it. In fact all this announcement can possibly do is make me feel annoyed that my laptop is no longer the latest and greatest.
Yet I'm still really looking forward to see what sony has come up with. Go figure. -
-
Maybe it's time to replace my old VAIO TR!

Some info on Conics:
http://conics.net/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=208 -
go sony, we are waiting!
-
-
does anyone know where news on the update is going to be released? and when it is going to be today?
-
-
US TT models are the following:
VGN-TT190EIN, TT190EIR, TT190NIB and TT190UBX
Awesome specs too! More info will be released soon! -
Where do you see the specs man?
The hard dives that I see in Conics are quite dissapointing...the max of SSD that you can take is only 64 GB? -
Yes I would also like to know where you see the specs?
-
armadilo - If those are the specs, it's not very surprising. A few of us predicted that. I mean, you may get better battery life but the ULV chips only really went from 1.2 or 1.33 to 1.4 GHz. The ultraportables generally are not leaps and bounds better in performance than the last generation save size, weight, and battery life. IMHO, one of the bigger leaps in ULV performance was the dual core architecture. Going from the Core Solo 1.33 (VGN-G1) to the Core Duo 1.2 (VGN-G2) made a difference in running things like VMWare.
It would be nice of SOny to allow 4GB of memory in the TT, but I doubt it'll happen. -
Hopefully it is not true -
Is 1.4Ghz the fastest they offer? -
-
The BX seems to have blu-ray drive as an option. In the compare section if you click blu-ray remains this model!
Fender, I know I didn't expect a bigger CPU but also the Toshiba R500 is offering 128 GB SSD. I hope too for 4 GB RAM and HDMI.
Edit:if you click 4 GB RAM remains the same model VGN-TT190UBX! -

can you imagine wha thte price is going to be on that? lol 2x128GB SSD + blu ray + premium carbon fiber
-
also interesting that WWAN is left blank
-
does anyone know anything about the processor on the new TT line? everything else seems to be top of the line.. i wonder how much they're gonna price this new model
-
its intels new ULV CPUs...stated right there in the screenshot
-
2 x 128 SSD? Is this the samsung MLC?
-
Its great to see these can be upgraded up to 4gb of ram and have the XBrite Duraview screen the Z series has with its matte finish. Will be easier to clean the screen and also easier to view in light.
The models using the 1.8" HDDs now have 5400rpm speed instead of 4200rpm as has been in the past, should make Vista a better experience.
I'm also scared of the price of the highest end VGN-TT190UBX model with its 256gb SSD (128gb X2 in RAID) and Blu-Ray writer.
I guess that means these will have HDMI out then? -
Strange that Sony didn't give this 2x128 GB SSD RAID+ Blu-ray option for the Z..lol I thought I decided to pull the trigger for the Z but now this TT seems very very nice. Can't wait to see the pics as well. Yep, is going to be at least 4k the premium model. But great news, I never thought that Sony would mange to put blu-ray in ultraportables, together with 4GB RAM and SSD. Are this graphic card going to handdle the blu-ray? I pressume is going the TT is going to have HDMI no?
-
Look at the specs - it's 256GB (2x128GB) in the SSD configuration. Nice! I wish they had done that on the Z. With 4GB of memory, I'm also surprised Sony added the second slot. And if BR is part of the 190UBX, it's also possible to combine RAID + BR. Why didn't they do this for the Z line?
I'm getting my Z today (128GB RAID) from Japan, so no buyer's remorse since I got what I wanted, but I would have paid more for the 2x128GB. I would assume that's close to a $2500 option since the 2x64 was about $1600.
The two biggest things that will differeniate the Z from TT - FSB (even though the TT uses PC3, the FSB is only 800MHz), and processor speed/capability.
I guess they had to make it more "premium" to justify the price lol (and I'm kidding ... I've paid it willingly over the years)
IMHO the Z is still the better bargain. I would assume that top of the line TT to be about $5k. -
Interesting that the highest end TT model can allocate 1300mb of video ram vs 790mb in the other models, despite them all having the same Intel integrated graphics.
Also interesting to see the TT's optical drive is slower in several ways vs. the TZ.
Its rated at burning DVD+RW, DVD-RW, CD-R, CD-RW at 4x, 4x, 16x and 10x respectively whereas the TZ's drive is rated at 8x, 6x, 24x and 16x. -
I'm dying here for some pictures...
-
-
-
EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't see the PDF file you attached.
Now how in the heck are they gonna fit an optical drive and two SSD's in there? Both a 1.8" and 2.5" SSD would fit, but only if you leave out the optical drive. -
The TT series will have HDMI out. -
I don't see anything special in the specs in the TT so far.. maybe the design will turn me on?
-
I'd be curious to see the CTO Japan models and what they will look like.
I also wonder if the SSD is MLC or SLC. If it's SLC, it'll fly.
I would shudder to think how much the Z I ordered would be if it was 2x128GB SLC SSD. And the TT will be more. -
-
Anything special??
256 GB SSD RAID, blu-ray drive, 4GB RAM...what else could you possible ask for? Compare to the actual TZ with the Intel GMA950 and after post again! Pics pleaseee!
