    Sony Vaio SA3T9E SSD/HDD Problem

    Ok so i bought this laptop yesterday.

    I have a ssd installed in this unit by default.

    But i need more storage without using an external caddy.

    My questions are this:
    The existing hdd connector cable - can that be edited/modified as currently it only accepts tiny sata connectors and not the normal 2.5 sata 9.5mm drive ones which are normal. One of the connectors is tiny in comparison

    Or

    Can I purchase one of the cables from sony or its affiliates or a parts supplier.

    If so does anyone know any of the parts suppliers?

    I already own multiple 1tb 2.5" 9.5mm drives and need the extra storage as the 128gb ssd isnt enough and I want to keep the ODD.

    I would really appreciate any help as I have 7 days to return the unit and its essential I can run normal hdds inside the unit.

    I have opened it and removed the ssd sata caddy and a 9.5mm 2.5" hdd fits snugly with some room to spare (0.5cm after attaching a cable) so all i need is a cable.

    If i order a custom unit on the website there is an option for hdd or ssd so there is definately a cable out there.

    I just need a-the cable b-advice c-part number so i can obtain the cable

    does anyone know of any companies that sell this or can obtain me one? Ive had no luck on google/ebay so far.

    darxide_sorcerer - do you know the best place to buy the above mentioned cable (V030_MP_HDD_FPC-239) and the side brackets for the 2.5" HDD? I have been quoted $80 for the cable and $15 for each of the HDD brackets by one of the online laptop part stores.. is it cheaper to get them from sony?
    I am replacing the 128GB 1.8" SSD in my VPC-SA390X with a 256GB 2.5" SSD. And need the cable and brackets.

    sorry, i have no idea. i suggest you check SONY's part store, but knowing SONY, it might be even more expensive. but definite check that. another option is eBay.

    I also ordered 2 brackets for the hard drive, which you also need them.
