    Hello,

I have a VPCZ1290 and over the last few months there have been two places on my screen (I have the 1920x1080 resolution) where areas of dead pixels literally grow and shrink throughout the day. The area on the lower right side is usually about 30-40 pixels but can expand to 50-60 pixels. the area on the lower right are two diagonal clusters that grow from 20 to 40 pixels.

It appears to be an issue as screen heats up (which seems weird seeing that it's LED and never feels hot) .

I'm past my one year warranty but i have the extended warranty and when i explained it to sony they sent me a box to send it to their extended warranty folks to fix. I put the laptop in the box and forgot to send for a week. This morning (before i was about to send) it turned it on and the bad pixels are non-existant (it hasn't been used for a week)

it's been running for a few hours and still looks perfect...my guess it will come back after a day or so but does anyone know what the deal is?

    thanks in advance!

No idea, but there are programs to try ("pixel repair") if it happens again.

yes it will come back, i happen from pressure that has been applied on the lid of the screen. anyway send the laptop and have them replace the screen.
