That's about dead on with my experience. Did you happen to count the cursor blinks between BIOS and Windows Splash?

I get 32 seconds with about 1.5 blinks. That's if total boot-time is up to the time where you're logged in and your computer is functioning.

Very interesting. My boot up time is about the same speed, and I easily count 17-19 cursor blinks every boot.

So...I think maybe there is confusion over what we are actually all looking at in terms of cursor blinks? Or if you're getting 1.5 cursor blinks (I don't know how you would count .5 blinks), are you spending 25-28 seconds then looking at the Windows Splash screen while the computer boots? See, I only see the splash screen for about 10 seconds, but that's after spending about 20 seconds between the BIOS screen and then looking at a blank screen with the cursor blinking (about 17-19 times).

Just so we're on the same page, everyone's counting "blinks" in terms of cursor blinks right? ZoinksS2k has almost 30 in this youtube video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTmjoZQM4dc

Are we counting up to the point where we log in or up until the time after we log in?
Edit: Oh i just read above a few posts and they meant until Windows logon screen. Then mine is somewhere around 24 seconds.

You can't really see the blinks because of the quality, but you can tell it's about 1-2 blinks.

This is without fresh-start. Two week old computer that I just installed a bunch of programs on. Basically nothing else is changed from factory settings.

Damn. Well I was thinking mine was fast, but now I'm jealous again. Yours is FAST. You most definitely have far fewer cursor blinks than me. We also are spending about the same amount of time on the Windows Splash screen. So mine's about ten seconds slower getting to the logon screen. Interesting. Mine is at factory settings and has always acted this way. I'm not too worried about it, just disappointed that it's not as fast as others.

I wonder if perhaps it could be a function of the Samsung vs. Toshiba SSDs? I'm assuming you have a Toshiba if you have a Z12. Mine is actually a Z11 with a Samsung drive. I think some Z12s have Toshibas and some have Samsungs.

    Yes, I did. It's about 9 to 10 cursor blinks. Sometimes 9. Sometimes 10.
I suppose it's the time for initializing that SSD RAID 0 config. That time Windows is not yet loaded. Cannot be loading drivers.

The reason why, is because dual or triple SSD setups are most of the times faster at startup
