Umm when I downloaded firefox it was just version 2.0 again even though it was the download day website !?

I dl'ed from the 3rd HTTP link and it came up with the "you just updated to the latest firefox" page so I assume it worked properly.

 

Yeah, oddly enough, clicking on "download firefox 3" on the main page is still giving me a copy of 2.0.0.14.... oh well, give 'em time, give 'em time....

 

Someone sticky a thread with the download links....we have like 3 threads on this already so far.

OK, looks like they just uploaded the official version onto the main page. The reign of FF3 has begun!

 

The welcome screen still says RC. is this normal?

 

They have tons of pages to update, just wait a little while.

 

Finally it's amazingly fast and an add on i was waiting for updated as soo as i installed FF3 Google Toolbar . this day couldn't be more amazing

Have you tried the Fx3 Addd-ons search from the browser?

Ugh, I can't wait to get AdBlockPlus running again.

 

Addons are dying a slow death, obviously their servers aren't designed to set world records! haha.

I guess I'll just update them in a few days, important thing is that Firefox 3 is up and running and looking sweet in Vista.

Lols... my Adblock Plus seems to be working fine... had it in Fx2, so...

 

Adblock Plus working fine in my FF3 as well.

 

No I just can't download it...lol.

 

Anyone know where I can find a mirror for Foxmarks v.2?? That's the #1 addon I need to get working right now....

 

Yup mine too.. adblock and noscript is working directly after ff3 install (carryover from ff2).

 

I installed ff3 on top of my ff2 and after installation I clicked "check for updates" and got the following message:

 

Yeah I have no idea either.

 

I did not install FF3 on top of FF2 and I also get that. I am not going to worry about it until there is an update to FF3 to be had.

 

I see, for a moment I was thinking of reinstalling ff3. Oh well, I guess I'll wait.

 

I too get that in fresh install of FF 3 on XP. It's fine with Vista.

 

Mine is Vista, not XP. Blows that theory.

 

I just upgraded ff2 to ff3 (vista), I then checked for updates and I see the usual "no new updates available for firefox" which is the usual message so it is working just fine for me.
firefox 3 looks interesting...

 

Has anyone checked the RAM usage for FF3??? From what I see, Opera is still the less demanding of the 3 browsers.

Yes, it works for me, too. It must have been a server side issue.

 

I download FF3, and it looks great, opens fast...but for some reason pages load slower than FF2. Did anyone notice anything like that?

 

Upgraded.

ABP works fine, pages load fine.

 

I cant even get there-seems like the site's getting hammered

 

Firefox is using about 43MB for me and Opera is using around 26MB. I used the NBR forums as the comparison.

 

Has anyone had any problems with their antivirus getting in the way, particularly Kaspersky users?

 

I had no problems. After all, it's only 7.14 MB.

This is not a thread for discussing the downloads and the record. It is meant for the discussion of the browser and the browser alone.

I'll start with my 2 cents.

Feels faster
I love the new download manager
The new interface isn't all that bad
So far no crashes and I don't intend to experience one
and...did I mention it feels FAST?

 

I must say, I've never been a Firefox user, but I'm liking FF3 very much so far.

 

agreed feels fast, when i download i downloads so much faster on firefox then I.E i download at like 150-250kb a sec on IE and 250-320Kb a sec on firefox very happy.

 

Remember to put the Adblock Plus... that will lower the RAM usage by blocking lame ads (flash and animations).
