    I dl'ed from the 3rd HTTP link and it came up with the "you just updated to the latest firefox" page so I assume it worked properly.

    Yeah, oddly enough, clicking on "download firefox 3" on the main page is still giving me a copy of 2.0.0.14.... oh well, give 'em time, give 'em time....

    Finally it's amazingly fast and an add on i was waiting for updated as soo as i installed FF3 Google Toolbar . this day couldn't be more amazing

    Addons are dying a slow death, obviously their servers aren't designed to set world records! haha.

    I guess I'll just update them in a few days, important thing is that Firefox 3 is up and running and looking sweet in Vista.

    I installed ff3 on top of my ff2 and after installation I clicked "check for updates" and got the following message:

    I did not install FF3 on top of FF2 and I also get that. I am not going to worry about it until there is an update to FF3 to be had. :)

    I too get that in fresh install of FF 3 on XP. It's fine with Vista.

    I just upgraded ff2 to ff3 (vista), I then checked for updates and I see the usual "no new updates available for firefox" which is the usual message so it is working just fine for me.
    firefox 3 looks interesting... :cool:

    Has anyone checked the RAM usage for FF3??? From what I see, Opera is still the less demanding of the 3 browsers.

    I download FF3, and it looks great, opens fast...but for some reason pages load slower than FF2. Did anyone notice anything like that?

    Firefox is using about 43MB for me and Opera is using around 26MB. I used the NBR forums as the comparison.

    I'll start with my 2 cents.

    Feels faster
    I love the new download manager
    The new interface isn't all that bad
    So far no crashes and I don't intend to experience one
    and...did I mention it feels FAST?

    agreed feels fast, when i download i downloads so much faster on firefox then I.E i download at like 150-250kb a sec on IE and 250-320Kb a sec on firefox very happy.

    Remember to put the Adblock Plus... that will lower the RAM usage by blocking lame ads (flash and animations).
