I couldn't stay awake to download FF3 by the time it is released. So I'm downloading it now.But I just download and not install, because I want to just update my RC3, and it says no update is available?
-
Ditto on how fast it feels. Looks pretty sleek as well.
-
Very quick
easily customizable -
Feel fast I agree, but I think is not.
I don't like the position of the refresh button.
Don't like the theme, I need another one and is urgent. -
How do you do that mate?
-

Tools -> Add-on -> Search AdBlock Plus -> Add To Firefox. -
The RAM usage is still more. Just with one window (Yahoo) open, it's around 63 MB. In IE 7 this is only 27 MB.
-
Thanks Karen
-
I might be able to comment if I could only download the damn thing...
Mozilla's servers are being ass-raped. -
^
I don't have a problem downloading it. And fast too.
Question: What changes Mozilla made between RC3 and Final? -
Since we have too many threads on FF 3(not necessarily a bad thing
), Continue disucussion in this current thread(other threads may get merged/closed).
Thanks.

Wowzah! I wasn't even paying attention to the counter. Am I right by saying there are even more downloads than there were pledges?
-
About 4x as many
-
2,000,000 downloads in the US
-
Memory usage is awesome!... fast and smooth.. kudos!
-
Am I the only one who thinks its super weird to have back history arrow beside the forward button instead of the back button?
This question again: What changes Mozilla made from RC3 to Final? or they just copy RC3?
-
Yep, they copied rc3... from what i heard.. but from rc2 to rc3 there was a lot of fixes for macs
-
I wouldn't even notice it if you hadn't mentioned it. Suppose that's a no. Fits me.
-
I didn't notice it is actually a history of Back actually, I thought it was history for Forward, due to the location of the arrow. Until I've read about it on lifehacker.
-
I m using FF2 now. Should i uninstall it before downloading and installing FF3, or install it over ff2 ??
Thanx -
I uninstalled ff2 before i install ff3... it nearly carried over every addon that i had. ABP and NoScript carried over perfectly..
-
I would also suggest that you unistall it before installing FF3.
Here is a Mozilla KB article on how the unistall FF(it also mentions how to remove the user profile data-bookmarks, passwords, preference settings and added extensions). Before removing the profile data, make sure you make a copy/backup of it.

Shadowfate Wala pa rin ako maisip e.
I just dloaded FF3. Though I am not going to update my FF3Rc1 to FF3 just yet(I have my reasons) I still dload it since I pledged to do it..
Did they break the record already??? -
no different to RC3
-
Like I said in the earlier posts.
The CRC32 and MD5 hash shows that the FF3 final is the same as the FF3 RC3. -
There are about 4 billion downloads and I think there was no record, so yeah.
-
Carrot Muncher Notebook Evangelist
think you meant million.
-
Absolutely nothing. It's the same exact build.
-
*facepalm*
Absolutely, how ridiculous of me.
-
I installed FF3 last night and I'm loving it! Fast startup, nice new theme, improved memory usage, and my personal fave... the Awesome Bar! I can indulge in lazy web surfing by just typing in the name of the site instead of the whole url. Genius!

INEEDMONEY Homicidal Teddy Bear
Which is the same as FF3 RC2 for windows users...
I'm not leaking any memory right now. 3 tabs holding at exactly 90,484K -
Hmm..the only page I have open is NBR(vBulletin style) and Firefox use 73K..

Is the Mozilla Firefox 3 download counter accurate?
Right now its showing over 6,449,016 downloads!
And yeah it does appear that memory usage for FF 3.0 is on the high side, I just hope they fixed the memory leaks. -
Can people recommend other good add-ons for FF?
I'll get the Adblock add one, what else is there that I really should get? -
2 days on RC3 and no crashes, great!
-
Sure, the ones I use beside AdBlock Plus are:
Undo Closed Tabs Button (very useful): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3082
Video DownloadHelper: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006
and a really cool one, PicLens: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5579 -
Over six million downloads already. And PicLens is amazing, and even better if they have Windows 7 out (touch surface).
-
I have FireGesture, SpeedDial, MediaWrap and gTranslate...
They are awesome with FF3
My 2 cents -
3 hours and 50 mins to go
-
IETab, Foxmarks to sync your bookmarks, Download Statusbar.
-
Wow, I'm kinda disappointed with Firefox 3. It has sure crashed a lot.
-
Incompatible with Firefox 3.0
.
EDIT: Scratch that...it worked after I restarted it even though it said otherwise. -
I've been able to do that with FF2.
Everything you mentioned about FF3, I feel the same although the memory usage is not as low as Opera 9.5 but it is improved. -
the biggest problem is it`s incompatible most add-ons.
-
Downloaded it, looks good, using it right now.
-
You know one thing that FF3 doesn't do which Opera 9.5 does and is a cool feature. If you type something in the address bar it does a mini search based on the name you entered.
For example I typed miamihearld in the address bar. While typing "miami" I got a drop down within the address bar pertaining to miami at that moment which might pertain to miami.
Don't get me wrong I like FF3 or FF2 but Opera does some nice things as well.
-
I thought that was exactly what the new FF3 address bar did?
-
Nope, it basically put's in your favorite sites within the bar. Sort of like Superfetch in Vista.
Don't get me wrong I like the FF3 address bar feature as well but Opera's is also pretty cool too.
