Does anyone know what the address for the "Home" page in chrome is? I'm trying to set up my startup so that it will open "Home" as well as my college's web portal, but I can't seem to do it. Also, is there anyway to set chrome to open Home and tabs that were previously open?
Thanks

Chrome gets an A- for me.
VERY GOOD for a 1.0..... -
anyone figured out how to fix the scrolling problem in chrome..still cannot scroll up with my touchpad.

On my first post using chrome on the forum I've realized that it has a spell checker. Can you say awesome!
So I guess NBR doesn't have to integrate a spell checker again.

I met my wife at an Opera b/d party in Norway, used O ever since
but Chrome will replace my IE7 (Thats not saying very much).

When I scroll in chorme it is very jerky. Solutions?
-
cheers ... -
Jerky in what way? The default (unchangeable) amount of lines to scroll in Chrome is a lot more than in FF or IE, which makes scrolling a lot faster but less precise, since it makes larger jumps per notch on your scroll wheel.

I think I give it a shot, after seeing the demo vids.

i also cant log into hotmail
-
I just tried, tells me to update my browser.
Funny thing is that it, on Microsoft's page, tells me to get either IE, FF or Safari, with links to all of them.
There's also a link at the bottom which takes me to the inbox, although it says some functions will be disabled. So yeah, I can check my hotmail account in Chrome, not that I use it any longer.

I have it installed but, when compared to the functionality of Opera, without any add-ons like Firafox, Chrome is lacking...
Where and how do you manage bookmarks for example and why can't you move/modify the menu's and/or toolbars?
I know it's a beta but...
For me it's too stripped of functionality, it's very quick but doesn't do anything else..... hopefully the final realease will be complete with functionality.
Just my 2p...

Yeah i got that part but, when you import them from ie, how do you re-arrange the folder structure and move the actual bookmarks "button" from the right hand side to the left hand side... Seems you can't re-arange the "furniture" to suit...

No not yet...a baby doesn't start walking as soon as it comes out its mother's womb does it!

Lol maybe not but FF3 Beta had most of it's functions working with a few bugs so... with Google being as big as they are, i'd expect the browser to a little more than just be quick...
I understand thet they wanted to keep it simple and stripped works great but, it seems too stripped of functionality and you can't customise it at all, which is how browsers used to be but even IE7 lets you add, move or remove buttons and bars etc...
Like I said it's just my observations, it's very quick which is great, guess ijust want more from a Beta...

Click the wrench, then options, then go to the Basics tab. There is options to do what you want under On startup. You can make it Open the Homepage, restore pages that were open last or make it open up as many pages as you want every time you launch Chrome. Everything you want Anomaly10 is all there. -

The more I use chrome the happier I am with it. The only bug that affects me (and only a little) is the scrolling bug. I have a feeling many things will be fixed soon, though.

Remember guys, it is a Beta...
And will be for some time...
Look at gmail lol.
I personally have 0 problems on the 3 computers I've used it on. -
The only problem that affects me that I can think of at the moment seems to be a problem with Windows XP. Google Chrome sometimes makes my whole pc laggy. Whether it be windows explorer, aim, any application I have open and etc. Once I exit chrome, everything is back to normal speed. I made my friend try it out too, because I thought he would like this browser, and he too had the same exact lag issues on his XP. However, on my Vista machine, this lag issue is not prevalent.

I tired it on Vista, XP Home, and XP Pro.
No problems here. -

I'm liking the tab isolation in processes. I'm hoping Apple will do this with Safari 4(.1), as Safari 3 gobbles ram like a hedonistic pig-man, no doubt causing fragmentation. I'm not a huge fan of Google, but chrome is a nice gift.

GAH! I still can't get over the no up-scroll. How did they miss something so fundamental?

I have synaptics on my XPS M1530, and the scrolling works flawlessly.

My opinion on Chrome
I like it. I really do! I love how if one tab crashes, the others stay intact. And dragging a tab out as a new window is useful too. It's very clean and tidy which is great.
HOWEVER
I do miss the "save as" feature from IE though... FF and Chrome just save everything in the same directory. Also I don't like how Chrome doesn't prompt me to close when I accidentally click the X button with multiple tabs open.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -

I don't use laptop mouse. VX Nano ftw.

Not everyone does though, and that's the problem. So up scroll doesn't work, and scroll wheel on mouses doesn't allow click & scroll. Nice.
-
Up scroll works for me, not that I ever use it.

Up scroll works for me, not that I ever use it. Click and scroll would be a nice feature to be added as well.

When it will be able to handle and organise my 160 tabs stably like Opera, we`ll talk

Are you serious?
Try it with Chrome, it might work.

I like Chrome a lot. One big reason is because with IE, my Lenovo T60 has almost always had an instability issue I've never been able to figure out.
About 30% of the time, after I've used IE for a while, things bog way down and the processor in the T60 is stuck using over 50% capacity, loses connection to the web, and my only recovery is to reboot. Can't find the rogue process. Also lose connection a lot of times after coming out of standby. Using wireless router.
This hasn't happened once with Chrome. Is it possible to reinstall just IE? (running Vista business)
I also think Chrome is much snappier than IE.
One thing I miss is the pull-down menu on the right side of the omni bar that allows you to easily see recently accessed sites. I realize Omni starts to show often used sites over time, but I would still like to have the pull-down.
By the way, does Norton Internet Security 2008 still offer protection when using Chrome vs IE? -
