just create a new VM then use a XP cd to install as you do in a real system :D

Serious, not sure what the problem is. If we aren't careful, we might just end up lagging behind the next architecture/improvement like just like we are behind on x64

By the way, I've just installed Windows 7 x64 RC1 (7100) and I have to say it works without any speed loss compared to Server 2008 (from my desktop), at least when it comes to opening applications and just browsing around (not relevant, but something I think I should report).

I've been running Win7 Beta x64 as my main OS since it first came out, and I'm loving it. Barring some sort of perception bias, it runs more smoothly than my tweaked Vista Ultimate x64 setup ever did.

This RC1 is better than what I have tried before. Nothing crashes. I'll wait for Server 08 R2 to install on all my machines. I'm just testing this to see how it's like, as the beta for the server version hasn't been updated since build 7000. Hopefully HP will provide the drivers as soon as they will get a hold of a RTM copy.
