Count me in. Been using Vista x64 since mid Jan. and I love it. After working out some quirks, its really not as bad as people think/say, IMO.

Anyhow, I could never go back to using only 2.5-3gb ram max. Stickin to x64 from now on.

And with the hacked Download of SP1, things are feeling much more stable.

Dude I'm in. I just installed Vista x64 last weekend, and man I love it. Everything is much much faster, and I get the added satisfaction that all 4 of my 4GB is able to be utilized... that was really bugging me in 32-bit Vista...

As soon as i get my M17X i'm going to upgrade to Ultimate 64, as the processor can take it, gives me all of the RAM etc.

I've been using Vista x64 for about two weeks now and love it. Even got SP1 up and running today via windows update. I have not seen any major issues so far. A couple freeware proggys that didn't want to install, but nothing major.

    I'm in...

Funny that my HDD clicking wasn't there anymore with Vista x64. I installed SP1 recently and everything is snappier and more responsive than with XP (my long time favorite).

    I'll stick to Vista x64.
And I'll try to make a list of x64 freeware on the weekend.

when you say native 64-bit, that means anything that installs to the "Program Files" folder instead of the "Program Files (x86)" folder right?

if that is the case, all I have loaded is here:
    - AVast Antivirus
    - 7zip
    - Mozilla Thunderbird
    - Logitech Setpoint (if you run this make sure you stop it from running setpoint.exe AND setpoint(x86).exe by changing the name of the second file)

Great Oodle. Nice machine...you should throw the specs in your sig block...

Or if I could recommend, go here and ask them to make you up n Alienware sigblock. They made mine below, free and its most impressive. Hats off to Arkit on the job well done!

Hey, eh, I would as and when I actually own it, although it will be in black Lol

My avatar is actually a silver M17X with Skullcap (taken from Engadget) lol

    My previous pc was a Dell inspiron 8500, 15.4" 1920 x 1200 WUXGA LCD, 2.5Ghz P4, 2Gb RAM, 80Gb HDD, DVD/CD/RW in Silver.

Sadley now dead, HDD went, DVD drive went, only good bits were the screen and the motherboard, although the graphics card was only 64Mb, so couldn't cop with modern games anyway lol. I tried TES4 Oblivion and it died (bluescreen of death) so it's been recycled now.

Maybe compile a list of drivers for Vista, so that anyone upgrading in the future, has a resource they can access to make it a bit easier?

A programs list is a good idea, free ones that work well are the best lol

Me and a colleague use portable apps and open office, both free and very good software.

I recently switched back to 64-bit vista and i must say all is well. The operating system is just a little bit quicker and more responsive. And the ability to use some new 64bit software is nice as well. The main reason i don't like 64-bit is because of driver signing problem. I am really hopping Microsoft will disable this "security" feature, or replace it will a simple warning prompt. But I am sticking with it for the time being and i will just try to avoid the driver signing problems if i can. But i would definitely recommend people to try 64bit if they can.

Thanks..Ive read this before from the rmclock forum but i was abit sceptical. Does RMclock have any setbacks or issues at all with the latest sp1 patches using this method? Just making sure i have full functionality with no issues

Should be joining the x64 team soon. I already downloaded all the 64 drivers and made the x64bit disc from digitalriver. I just wanted to make sure all is well before i switch to it. Probably do it this weekend or next

Hey flip. I've been running RMClock on x64 with SP1 for about a week or two. I haven't had any problems. I've had a BSOD or two, but I don't know if it's related to RMClock, and it's only been on shutdown of Vista, so it hasn't really been an issue.

I have been using x64 and RMClock for 2 weeks using this method and I have had zero problems. No BSOD, no errors, and not even slower performance. It works just fine. (i have sp1 Reg. hack)

:) Add me to the team guys. Just spend the last 3 hours installing x64 and restoring all my programs and setttings as it was on 32bit. The only function i lost was on the mini remote that slides in my expresscard slot. The windows media center green button stopped working. RMclock works fine so far, thanks guys.

There is one major issue though. I CANNOT UPDATE AT ALL, it keeps giving me a failed error. I had this problem aswell before though. Windows update wont update at all. Ive disabled the firewall and AVG. See pic below:

Also I have found 1 advantage of "creating seperate" partitions.

I installed all my games and a few programs in a seperate partition. After i did the clean x64 install on my c:/ OS partition, all my games in the D:/ still work! I just had to click on the .exe files and it all works. It sure saved me ALOT of time having to install and update 5 games again. Some game settings had to be reconfigured though, im guessing because the old settings was saved in the old registry that i formatted

no luck =/ this cant be good. Ive tried restarting about 10times now. I actually sorta switched to x64 because i suddenly started having this problem on x32. The error code seems to point out my connection settings but ive disabled ever thing and i have an open connection.

Any chance i can download SP1 somewhere else?

Okay i fixed it. I tried to do 5 solving methods at once and it worked (changing proxy, disabling firewall, restarting services). I cant pinpoint what solved it but it worked

When i tried to update again it said "Windows Update needs to download the latest Windows Update to download latest updates" ( o_O wtf??) so i clicked Install Now.

Then i click Check Update again and my updates showed up =D

Downloading 139mb worth of fixes.. Am i supposed to see Service Pack 1 anywhere?
