Here's my current one.
I think, this one I got off of the wallpaper usenet group.

Here's a new one. I really like scenery. This one is super sharp. Again, it's from a.b.pictures.wallpaper.

Why do so many people use Rocketdock/Objectdock? I don't get what the point of it is. Uses up a lot of real estate and is slower than using the App Launcher gadget or instant search. Not to mention it's mainly for looks, as the functionality is pretty mediocre.

well it was a good way to not have to have desktop icons in Vista and XP (by using rocketdock or objectdock instead). But in Windows 7, since the taskbar is an app launcher and a dock of sorts, i don't see quite as much need for objectdock with W7

Interesting...I guess I just find it's way easier to use a gadget for launching programs. Or sticking a few programs in the quick launch bar. I would certainly still consider my desktop 'clean' :

I'm liking the default wallpapers that come with the RC. Much better than any other Windows wallpapers I think -

Does anyone know how to keep the running programs seperate form the shortcuts pinned to the taskbar? Like this: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a136/SandManiac/Show.png
I thought that wasn't possible anymore, but here Firefox is running and there is still a link. Oldschool behaviour. I want that. -

how do i get the win2k / 98 style GUI?
all this aero / sidebar stuff scares me, and I like the simplistic look of the older OS's.

1) Right click desktop
2) Click Personalize
3) Select "Windows Classic" as the theme
4) Right click the toolbar in bottom, hit properties
5) Choose "Taskbar buttons" and select "Never"
6) Hit Ok and you are back to basics...
but I love the refresh look of 7 -
Thsi is my first design -

What widgets program do you guys recommend? -
Can I ask what program or gadget do you use to show those weather and system information on your desktop? Thanks.
Can I ask what do you do to make those shortcuts at the bottom appear like that?
Sorry I just installed W7 on my old desktop with 512mb ram this morning so I'm pretty noob at W7.
Anyways, here is mine.
By the way I like the "ribbons" screensaver. -
cheers ... -
