I found RegSupreme to be enough for me 98% of the time. The differences in thei products is shown here.

I just thought of a way to fix that. Find the registry keys that deal with the stuff messed up and put it in the exclusion list. Give that a try.

    Guys,

After I use Free Window Registry Repair 1.2 and it cause my puter messed it up also few apps crashes like Firefox, picasa2, etc...so decide unistall that sucks and will plan to reformat then reinstall fresh OS then put my main Ccleaner back and stick with it. I don't like try out different registry will create more problem If you don't know anything about new diff reg apps out there, waste of times try it out ain't worth damn.

Ccleaner does support 64bit recently updated version that is good sign.

Wonder if this Free Window Registry Repair 1.2 works with Vista 64 and SP 1 ???

number one rule - “if ain't broke it don't fix it.”

    +1 CCleaner 2.05.555 :)

    -1 Free Window Registry Repair 1.2 :(

    Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for cleaning up the spelling. But anyway, i haven't heard many people complain much but i might remove it soon, especially if when i get SP1 it gets messed up. I like constantly updated applications so it's kind of already on my negative side. I feel like building a new version myself but i don't know much about computer coding, all i can do right now is web coding.

Now without that Free Registry Repair program. Sometimes free ain't always good.

Registry cleaning is not something you should go into without knowing what you're getting into. I've edited my posts in this thread and deleted the whole section in my software thread as people think it's something that you can just dive into and delete willy-nilly, even though i do that and have no problems.

But I specifically looked at each registry entry (there were a lot). None looked 'life-threating'.

Also, if you ran the Full Scan, delete the entries. Try running Full Scan again. I'm 99.9% sure you'll have 60+ entires left over. It'll do that again, and again, and again.

I think the program is just poorly coded.

Maybe as the other poster said, it doesn't do well on 64-bit, though you don't specify what you have on your EEE PC in your signature. As I've said in the past, a good registry cleaner always report registry errors, basically because you're constantly using your registry.

It basically compacts the registry, it works fine for me, and it's updated a lot by Auslogics so you probably won't have problems. But I'd make a system restore point just in case.

Whoa. A few mishaps from messing with that registry I see. Good thing I left 1345 out of 1433 "errors" alone instead of wiping out every single one of them.

Post both CCleaner and RegSupreme in section I guess those populars reg apps everyone using.

FWRR is unheard of, FWRR might works well for you as web coding.

I just downloaded and ran it twice to the tune of nearly 1800 errors! We'll see. If it screws up my system I've been meaning to do a fresh install anyway.

Looks like I'll be doing the fresh install sooner than I thought. No longer do my external speakers work and a restore didn't help. :(

Added: I think my volume was turned down! What's worse is I did a C drive back up from two days ago and it returned stuff I spent several hours yesterday getting rid of! What a dope! :D

I deleted 2000+ errors on my first use of FWRR, I do not have any problems.

Usinf Registry cleaner from auslogics caused myburner software not to work.

Also will installing many tweaks or Speed boosters harm your computer.

me to insert a vista disc. I restart it and can hit any F key and nothing it just
goes back to that screen. I am still trying to find a friend that actually got
a vista disc with their computer.

That does seem pretty serious, although i can hardly imagine it as I've never had problems. Don't you have a restore disk made? Such as a vLite?

The restore disc I have won't work. In a different thread ScuderiaConchiglia said this "No, the system restore discs that are created on Sony machines are image restoration discs so he won't be able to use them for recovering the file he needs."

    Gary

    I don't know vLite sorry.

I just recently found some problems that FWRR creates.

Since I am tweaking my Laptop and making my boot process faster using sevral boosting software.

FWRR deletes registries in the boot processes, after running FWRR my boot time hangs and my boot time will become 16-20 full bars to boot.(I did this when I just achived my fastest boot time of 5 full bars, such a waste)

My boot itme right now is at 7.5 to 8.5 bars.

Won't be using FWRR for a while

is it even worth cleaning the registry if you can potentially do harm to your system?
    is it a necessity?

You cannot do harm to your system...just make it real difficult to back out of.

Go to my Tweaks Thread and look up the Tweak with respect to this. There is a site highlighted which will allow you to activate a .bat file that will return all your processes to their original state if need be.

That free windows reg repair hosed my V64 system too, I had major issues with Firefox, had to uninstall/reinstall

I bought WinASOregistry optimizer, it works just fine, more thorough than CC but its not free

Calvin, I'd add skype to your free software list. MSN messenger has issues with video from logitech webcam in vista 32 and 64 (ie kaput not working). Skype just works fine and is free from pc to pc

Auslogics registry cleaner is more aggressive than CCleaner and will delete some program activation entries. Auslogic's other options works well and the defrag program is not as extensive as Microsoft's.

You shouldn't worry about Ccleaner not seeing all your ram. If your system doesn't see 4 gb ram, then you have a problem. As long as ur pc sees your ram, you're fine.

You both are right. I was just wondering why CCleaner was not seeing all of it. It really doesn't matter, I guess.

I have an HP Pavilion desktop running Windows Vista Ultimate x64 with 4GBs of Kingston RAM installed. I ran a memtest and everything is good as of right now.
