To install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver (no application, but it still does the job) just go into the device manager, open up the SATA controller (it's under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers) go to update driver, and point it to the directory where the Intel Matrix Storage Manager installer is. It should find the driver there automagically.

I am dumbass
. I had to put Vista compatibility and it worked
. I will try with the fingerprint reader again
.
Found a few more errors.
Cannot access device manager only in console. Cannot open my WEI. I get runtime error. SysWoW64.exe -
Creative Installation went smooth. I get a SysWow64.dll error everytime I access the control panel or an option in there
.
-
anybody else notice that their gpu doesnt downclock to 2D or 3D low performance mode?
-
Are you using 64-bit version?
-
Well..yes. The 64 in my message is not random
. Also 32 is pointless when you have 4GB of RAM.
-
I found the cause of my error. CS4 Master. It uses framework and it seems that W7 is not polished properly there. Apparently CS3 does the same. This issue is common on W7 x64.
-
hmmm I couldn't download the Windows 7 beta from the windows website in windows 7 using either FF or IE
-
Weird.........
-
yah...I clicked on the link where it shows you the key and nothing happened at all.
-
Random, but the Live Mesh menubar thing that comes down/up from the taskbar doesn't disappear like its supposed to, you have to refresh the desktop to get it to go away.
-
1. My FF hangs sometimes while i'm copying huge (i mean 5gb+) files to my external hard-drive.
2. Firewall softwares (comodo and online armour) aren't compatible yet with W7.
3. (dont knw if this is a bug) I'm getting a score of only 2.0 for my primary hard disk in WEI.
Thats it so far. Everything else seems to be working fine ATM. -
1. Safari won't install.
2. The Kapersky beta that Microsoft links to keeps Google Chrome from installing (calls it a Trojan). Not really a Win7 problem, but I'm mentioning it here so you guys are aware of it in case you try.
3. I can't get my university's Office 2007 download file to install. I've tried running it in compatibility mode and as admin, and it still hasn't worked.
4. When I insert my 16GB flash drive, a dialog window comes up sometimes saying something like "Insert the last volume of the zip archive and click OK." But I don't have any zip archives on the flash drive. -
My Chrome has no internet. Opera 9.63 crashes and I cannot upload photos on any website with any browser from W7
. I let my PC to update CS4 MASTER last night and W7 put it to sleep during the update process eventhough I said don't
.
I love how the action center reports only successful programs
. The failed ones you need to make the report manually
.

These are what I have encountered so far:
BSOD when connecting via VGA to the Vostro - happens everytime, in both 64bit and 32bit versions
No desktop available when using external monitor on boot up - have to reload/refresh theme.
64bit iTunes is horribly SLOW
Otherwise everything else is running really well so far -
Can't install Nokia Pc Suite. Tried every possible way. Not enough privileges.
1. Set Compatibility to Vista and XP SP2
2. Set it to run as Admin.
3. Error not enough privileges.
4. Explorer crashed
.

This is probably not a W7 bug, but it came with the driver that W7 automatically installed when I first turned on W7, so I guess it's still a "bug" on Microsoft's part.
Can't set my display to 60Hz, it automatically reverts to 59Hz, no matter how many times I Apply/Ok the setting. W7 downloaded the 179.28 driver. WDDM 1.1. Not that it matters 'cause I'm not trying out games in 7, but people might want to know, so... -
I tried compatibility to Vista and it works. Didn't even need to run it as Admin. Are you installing the latest version? 7.1.18?
-
Did you get the synaptics driver to work, I installed x64 synaptics drivers for my Acer and they work no problems.
-
IDT High def audio driver not compatible. Resulted in system degredation, slow shut down and boot. Explorer.exe would hang during shutdown waiting on shutdown sound, sound would finally play, then shutdown process would stop. Uninstaller would not work until I disabled driver from device manager.
This is a driver incompatibility issue, as are many things listed in this bug list. Are we to worry about this in beta stage and notify MS, or is it just a matter of waiting on the driver/software publishers to catch up to 7? -
With Troubleshoot compatibility->Vista, I've installed CIS (without AV) normally.
As I'm using 64-bit, I can't say anything about OA. -
Probably because W7 is on such a small partition, and it can't detect the main, bigger partition where you have Vista or XP installed. I have the same result.
-
oh.. thanx for the info.. W7 is rite now installed on a 30GB partition.
ya i tried that too. but there was a huge problem. CIS wasn't recognising any internet traffic. i was downloading a file via FF and wen i went to "view active connections" under firewall in CIS, it didnt show firefox as recieving or send any packets.
I had to reinstall W7 coz CIS wouldn't even uninstall, and it kept hanging evertime i booted into W7. -
Windows 7 has problems with my TS-L633L CDDVD drive, installs the drivers for it but apparently they are not signed, which leaves me with an operating system that does not let me read cd dvds. That and the areo rating system is significantly messed up.
-
From the Comodo forum;
" I've been testing around first conclusions:
Installed Windows7 build 7000 official Ms download on VMWare.
Downloaded CIS, selected properties, Vista Compatible, Run As Administrator.
Install CIS.
Disabled Windows firewall.
Reboot.
Select profile "ProActive Security", set firewall level to Custom Policy, set alerts to very high.
The firewall is working for blocking incoming traffic, so being stealth is not a problem.
The thing it misses is the detection between application traffic and windows operating system traffic.
It put's all traffic on the "Windows Operating System" application rule.
So in short it works, but only let's you allow to create rules on the Windows Operating System rule.
If you set a block rule on WOS let's say port 80, you start firefox, it won't connect to the internet.
Cheers. -
Yes. It does not want to install
. Tried everything
.
-
After a few snags, yes I did...
-
Thanx Baserk. I'll try it out again.
-
Creative has no enhancements
. The same crap I had when I tried Vista when it came out. My Audigy had nothing. Now, my X-Fi on Vista has more features. Go figure...
-
You can try pressing F8 during boot and go to the unsigned option and try that to install the drivers, or safe mode maybe. Or you can try to download the latest drivers for your drive.
Not sure if its FF but I have the same problem but its due to NOD32 scanning the files.
To add ZoneAlarm Extreme Beta installs but it doesn't not work. UI never loads under Windows 7 -
Minor bug: After repairing the OS with the install disc, The "loading" splash screen reverts back to that of vista's and not Windows 7's
-
So don't repair if it crashed
HEHEHEHEHHE. Is there a hidden GUI like on Vista?
-
Found this and it worked a charm.
Solution
To solve the issue, you have to edit the Windows Registry:
Click Start, then Run, type REGEDT32 and click OK.
Locate and then remove the following registry values:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlCl ***{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}LowerFilters
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlCl ***{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}UpperFilters
Note: Some programs are unable to detect the CD/DVD drive after these steps. To solve this, simply re-install the program in question, eg: usually your recording software. Also, in few instances the order in which the programs are (re-)installed can make a difference. -
I had the same problem, and I fixed it by going to Device Manager and going to my disk properties. There, you can go to the Policies tab and uncheck Enable Write Caching on the Disk and re-run WEI (and recheck it after).
My problems so far:
1. Large space on left-hand side of menu when right-clicking in library folders, other places?
2. Vista Battery Saver program stalls halfway through setup.
3. Restart/Shutdown very iffy, sometimes stops responding. -
Mine is enabled by default and I still have half the perf I had in Vista
.
My W7 has constant internet dropouts and Opera fails to run in any mode
. Same connection, same Opera works fine on Vista.
-
Do you have network dropouts, ie: disconnects from the router?
-
Cannot display page things...
-
Is it only with Opera, or does it happen with IE8/FF/etc?

Wishmaker, I'm running Opera 9.63 just fine. Is it just random, or you can't use opera to browse at all?
-
Hmmm my realtek HD driver isn't working properly with Windows 7.
-
Odd. My Start menu randomly changed colors-Feedback Sent!

Not really a relevant bug for probably 99% of Windows 7 users out there but my ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 isn't recognized by 7. This is a quite dated GPU and of course, ATI no longer provides support for these drivers - not even for Vista. Tried looking around for Vista drivers for this GPU but I haven't had any success. So I'm stuck with the standard VGA display.
-
It isn't a bug if you're attempting to run something as obsolete as the 7000. As you said, there aren't even Vista drivers for it.
-
Yeah I was too scared to run 7 on my newer systems so I busted out my girlfriend's old Toshiba A60, which surprisingly has pretty decent specs for such an old laptop (except the GPU obviously).
-
My widgets stop working if I turn off UAC.
-
unable to install third part 802.xx authentication <-- needs EAP-TTLS support
random chkdsk errors not related to hard drive <-- win 7 unable to fix chkdsk errors needs xp chkdsk to fix
resetted all my passwords and biometric data <-- rebooted and it was okay -
I cannot enable sleep mode. The option is there but it is not available. Is this because I installed W7 on an old system? I only have 512MB RAM, a [email protected], and a Radeon 9200 with 128MB. Any ideas? Thanks.
-
Sleep does not show up on Vista or Seven if you haven't got your GC drivers. It is greyed out.
-
MY GC is over 5 years old. Is there any way to get the drivers updated or do you think it is useless? Thanks for the reply.
