i still cant get sleep to work i have CCC installed and using modded drivers... anyone find a fix
I already disabled media sharing
Edit:
I just looked at my driver, and the driver version is wrong.. It could be a after effect of the Mobility Modder. I was also Looking at the Details and I got some weird info. Posting it now

hehe i got a funny bug:
the ie now does the same thing chrome does: fake several ordinary windows in to tabs.. now it wanted to create a new tab and had a bug there. it resulted in endless window spanning quickly having several 100ts of windows.
the only way to get out of this (as now they're individual processes and i'm not that fast to close them while the system is fully used at creating them) was a hard reset. now win7 can't boot anymore..
luckily, i have a winhomeserver and can just restore the backup again.. but it's definitely a bug
there should be some way to recognise flooding of processes and block it.

I have three problems so far
I upgraded from Vista --> W7
(1) Office 2007 installation error=1935 whenever it reaches ~80% (Maybe conflict with previous registry that didn't get removed in Vista??). If there's no solution im gonna go with Office2007 Portable version which doesn't require an install.
(2) Daemon Tools and Alcohol120% can't install. It would say "please restart PC to continue installation" and once I restart, it will say the same msg again...so after 3 restarts I gave up.
(3) Wireless internet dropouts during gaming: I have updated Intel drivers, World of Warcraft would keep disconnecting (OH NO!) but MSN and firefox etc would remain connected. The only way to resolve that is to restart PC and *sometimes* problem would go away and I can game for the whole night with no D/C
I'm mostly concerned about not having virtual software and Office 2007. Does anyone know a program to replace daemon/alcohol120%? And if anyone know a fix to that 1935 error for Office2007 it'll be most appreciated. -
I uninstalled it but forgot to give them Feedback.
Someone please say MS that MS Office ,Daemon Tools doesn't work, Realtek Audio doesn't work, and very important for me CS 1.6 doesn't work. -
Try Slysoft Virtual CloneDrive.
Cheers. -
You can just reinstall office from the disk (you said that you upgraded) and it installs fine.
Greg -
you are unable to upgrade vista unless its SP1 and then its not recommended. Its highly advised that you do a full installation.
and Daemon tools does not work I recomend PowerISO. -
Vista32->7(32)
It won't recognize my DVD drive. I got it to attempt to install the drivers for it by disabling digital signing, but it said the Device was Unplugged
-
Can't install daemon tools as a couple of posts above, win7 gets stuck in a restart loop.
Also magicdisc won't install, gets 3/4 of the way through sometimes then crashes, sometimes gets all the way through but won't run anything. Won't uninstall either, through the windows add/remove programs, or revo uninstaller, go to do a system restore to just before magicdisk installation, then system restore freezes. Have to hard rebbot system then run system restore. -
Okay just did a fresh install, formatted C:\ and installed W7.
All problems still exist. Not sure about wireless yet cos haven't installed WoW but I assume it'll still be the same.
Formatted and used Office2007 DVD to install...still does not work. ERROR=1935!!! >< -
Installed the Authentec W7 Beta driver for my fingerprint reader and now it does not work at all
. Before, it worked after w7 fully booted. Now, it won't accept my swipe. The reader works fine because I just logged on Vista to post here. I cannot browse properly with W7 on NBR.
-
does your authentic driver have software that comes with it
its the same with me ASUS notebook -
I like that there is a rotating background image, but there is no option to allow all subdomains. All my photos are in individual folders determined by date taken. I can't just roll them all into one folder so that I can see them all in a slideshow.
-
The rotating backgrounds come from your picture library. If you configure your picture library and add specific directories, then you'll have all of your pictures. I have my Windows Home Server photos directory added to my pictures library, and I have over 2000 pictures that automatically rotate!
-
Plugging in external monitor into VGA causes instant BSOD on Eee PC 900HA. Using Windows 7 Intel driver (only one compatible that allows Aero).
-
for everybody hwo got bsods with externals, it's because the native nvidia driver sucks, uninstall it and download the 179.28 and everything works great
-
Yes it does but the reader only works after I log in 7. At the logon prompt it is disabled. I tried the beta drivers for W7 hoping I can log in with my fingerprint reader. Nope. It is disabled totally

Just realized that I can't play any DVD movies using WMP11 or Media Center. I get the video, but the audio is just a loud buzzing sound.
I wonder if it is the sound driver, as it was the only device not installed by Windows automatically. I had to manually install a Vista driver......
UPDATE: After the above occurs, I lose sound for flash videos as well. Oddly, Windows sounds remain unaffected. -
My photo library is over 60GB, I can't just move it to my pictures folder so I can have them in slideshow form. There is an option to browse to a directory, but no option to have it dig into subdirectories, such as in the photo gadget.

MagicISO appears to wreak havoc to Windows 7. I had no trouble installing the latest version for Vista on this new os, but from there it was all downhill.
Attempting to run the program locks up Windows Explorer, so much so that the Task Manager cannot even terminate the processes, throwing up all sorts of system instability messages. Trying to open Computer or Control Panel just leads to blank windows loading. Each occurance required a hard shutdown.
Attempting to uninstall the program from the Programs list leads to Explorer locking up again. Going directly to the uninstall executable in C drive causes the same thing to happen. Trying to uninstall the virtual drive from device manager leads to an endless " uninstalling" window with nothing happening.
Running the program in compatibility mode for XP, Vista or 95 made no difference whatsoever. In fact, Windows 7 tried to automatically change the compatibility mode to Vista itself but then locked up during the operation. -

you dom't move, you add the path to the library. and then add the library to the wallpaperswitcher.. no clue if that works. but no copy or move.. -
davepermen Notebook Nobel Laureate
yep that works. choose the pictures library and it'll show all subfolders as well. go to "pictures" in the startmenu, and on the topright, on "Includes 2 Library locations", add your additional path.

Has anyone noticed that if you plug in a removable usb device (flash drive or external hdd) when you click on safely remove devices the active internal hard drive (which windows is installed on) shows up as a device you can "safely remove". Am I missing something here or is this something you really don't want to be doing.

Is it just me or has anybody else not been able to get any of the screensavers to work in Windows 7?
Noticed something strange. On the drop downs for the various options of the screen saver one of the options listed is my Avast antivirus program. Wonder if Avast is causing the screensaver malfunction? May have to uninstall it and find out when I have more time. -
Has anyone noticed a sort of delay when clicking on a link using Windows Live Messengar and the time it takes to load up the link in IE8? For me it's about a 5 second delay...
-
I've had problems with MagicDisc in 7, like you just created a whole host of issues, had to do a system restore to get rid of it. It even screwed that up for a bit.
-
It was driving me nuts. Every time I uninstalled the virtual drive in safe mode, it would automatically reinstall itself after reboot. Worse yet, it kept locking onto an iso file on my desktop and refused to release control....
I'm done with virtual drives for now.
-
I noticed that too and I also noticed how page cannot be displayed is W7's best friend. I have to reboot on Vista to upload photos on a website?????!!!
-
Realtek HD Audio manager control panel doesn't work properly, Dolby Control Center can't find any endpoints?! Internal Speakers work fine though despite those problems. That's more to do with Realtek than Win 7 though.
I kept getting a subspooler error until I set the print spooler service to manual in services.msc, I don't have a printer so that's not a problem for me.
And I keep gettng the force shutdown window on shutdown, because some apps are still running and won't close. -
I also have issues with Realtek. Cracks and pops. These don't exist in Vista.
-
My W7 is going haywire
. I get this error everywhere
. Adobe CS4 Master's fault apparently
. Weird that I am the only one getting it on CS4 Master. Other people stated they successfully installed it on W7 and it works
.
-
same here, I also couldn't get many of the options I could in Vista like simulated 5.1 surround...
-
Maybe the sound issues are not directly driver related as I originally thought. My Conexant audio drops out intermittently and/or stutters, but it also did this in Vista (just not as pronounced).......
-
sigh 64 bit
has the same gadget bug
and sleep issues.
o hibernate is not on the shutdown list anymore. -

Anybody got the Reliability Monitor working?
-
Hmmm
I was playing TF2 and then it dissapeared...
I thought it closed, but then it came back when I was adjusting volume. It didn;t show up on the taskbar, but it was still running making me think my system was running 15c hotter than it should of benn... -
I've only noticed two bugs so far:
-Pidgin will never close properly. I need to terminate the process every time. That may be pidgin's fault though. (I have only used this program, while using Windows 7, never before. So I can't judge.)
-Whenever my computer wakes up from sleep, I get a maze across the top on my screen, shown in the attached picture. It seems to affect only the desktop. Other windows & desktop icons will cover it fine. It goes away after I reboot.Attached Files:
-
-
I keep getting that darn flickering line across my taskbar, but besides that, it's all good.
-
That is a bug with Pidgin 2.5.3, fixed in 2.5.4.
-
Just thought i'd give an update;
1. I have no problems now while transferring large files. It may have been becoz i didn't install the AHCI drivers at first.
2. I still haven't been able to get CIS(stable) to work, even under compatibility mode. But i juts installed the new CIS 3.5 beta, under vista compatibility, and it's working perfectly!! Been running it for a little more than a day, and haven't had any glitchs (*fingers crossed*).
Cheers.

I tried to modify a few boot options from W7 in the boot loader and it crashed my Vista
.
-
For my some reason, my wallpaper disappear after turning on my notebook. All I get is a blank screen (black). This happen with the default windows 7 wallpaper and my personal wallpaper. Anyone else?
-
Sometimes my fan goes crazy and I check the CPU temp is it's supposedly 74c. This has happened to me twice. All I did was "reboot" to fix this issue.
The start menu doesn't shrink when u use small icons. So the bars shrink, but the menu itself remains the same size. -
I don't have this issue, but when I use "vista dreamscenes" as a background, and reboot, the screen turns black. so i stuck with just using wallpaper.
-
I used ezbcd on win7 and have no issues. user error.

I am using an aopen minipc with the integrated (mobile) Intel 945 video card.
Windows 7 beta installs the WDDM 1.0 driver for this card.
Apparently the WDDM 1.1 driver does not work with the 945 or older video cards.
I am getting a tonne of system freezes (no blue screen - just a total freeze) which all seem to be related to video problems. This requires a hard reset. Aside from system freezes, video performance is quite poor: the display flashes, videos show scan lines, aero performs poorly (choppy). I get fairly constant screen flashes after which I get a system tray notice that says that the intel video driver has had a problem and recovered.
System freezes seem to occur when the video is strained. For example, when windows media player has a visualisation running and the dynamic desktop background tries to change the picture. Another example is when I'm using the display in portrait mode just browsing the web. I'm not sure why the latter scenario is such a problem but it is.
I am using a 1920x1200 display. Vista has had no problems with this high-res display and video card.
Who else is using Intel 945 graphics? What has your experience been? Any fixes right now, or are we just waiting on Intel for new drivers?
It is strange to get system freezes - I haven't had them for a long time (since I used XP SP2). Of course this is BETA software and I am not expecting it to run flawlessly. -
Have you tried installing the AOpen minipc Vista video drivers?
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
The only problem on my EEE which has the 945 is that at random times the aero will turn off, and then a few minutes later turn back on. -
Aero turns off on my U6 only on quiet office/battery saving mode.
Maybe your EEE downclocks and W7 detects it as a power saving feature. Check the event log. -
My reliability has tanked to 0-poor. Windows explorer keeps crashing everytime I open the control panel. I do like the way the problem history is layed out in the reliability monitor.
