hi Phoenix, i already installed it but nothing happened. im still on dx12.
-

You will only see the latest DX Version. Installing DX9 only installs the necessary older DX Libraries so you will always only see DX12
For example, you install Steam right, then install a game called ABC....
That game, upon first launch, will instal DX Again...which DX? well, the one that it needs, let's see DX 9 or 10.... it doesn't remove the newer DX which ships by default in Windows 10 which is DX12, it is simply adding the necessary DX libraries that it needs as its game engine was built around that DX version -
I just voted thinking this was a poll for Phoenix to go by when he creates it, lmao Microsoft just a a few cusswords by accident in the comment section, I said something like **** give me a barebones version with Fluent UI and no windows defender and no telemtry... lol

I decided to just use Windows Firewall, because my Malwarebytes Premium Lifetime License already uses HIPS... I think it does anyway... I have Windows Firewall set to Block All Connections... but my downloading and browsing and gaming habits all seem fine still... I thought if I blocked everything in Windows Firewall my internet would stop, but I guess not, lol.
I rock a good VPN 24.7 as well that has built in protection in its servers... AIR VPN one of the few hacktivist approved VPN''s.
If Malwarebytes does not use HIPS... please someone let me know if it does not, then I will definitely try another Firewall. -
I use Windows FW control by Sphinxsoft while there are alternative from Binisoft and others as well.

i still can't install messenger and instagram from windows store.
i already install directx9.

@Phoenix
Maybe we get rid of game
No offense, but you don't belong here with us. Go use regular Windows 10. This is barebones for a reason.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

my thoughts exactly, he's using the wrong version of Windows
This is an enthusiast version of Windows 10 with no fluff and no garbage Windows Store apps are meant to be used here. -
Not exactly. Everybody has the right to use bloatware free version to get best Windows 10 experience.
@oipsst: You can use sfc /scannow and Dism to repair certain components. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/7808-use-dism-repair-windows-10-image.html -

did you try installing steam and a game or two to let it install the required DirectX libraries?
I have no issue installing any app using the Bloatware Free Edition -
I think he is specifically referring to Windows Store installations... but honestly mate, its up to you but I would not go out of your way to help someone who wants to install Instagram through Windows Store... sorry to all of you if it is offensive of me, but yeah those people just do not belong here, nor on overclock.net where my other brothers are. We are kings among men. Yeah, I have ego issues

I tried intalling that Instagram app on my computer just to test but it looked fishy, it said the developer was Instagram, but the logo was blue. Instagram NEVER hs a blue logo, it should be like pinkish reddish so I didn't go forward. And I don't know what messenger he's talking about to test thatPapusan likes this. -

It still has one problem that Redstone 3 does not have, and that is for those of us who overclock are monitor refresh from 75hz to 100hz, or even desktop 60hz to 110hz on south korean panels, Nvidia color profile adjuster will not stick... yet it sticks fine in Redstone 3.
Other than that, this would be a perfect OS for me and I would be done and done forever. I really wish AMD could match 1080 ti or 1180 ti when it comes out... if it can... I seriously may consider an all AMD build for my ultimate rig in summer 2018... but I doubt that happens.
Side note: Nvidia drivers now have telemetry baked into the graphics driver, it used to be attached to Nvidia Geforce Experience only (I don't install that or Vision driver anymore and I do clean installs of the actual graphics driver too), but I noticed today Bitdefender Firewall on Paranoid Mode gave me a pop up and said hey, should we allow Nvidia telemetry backend? I was like nope, denied. lol. -
Old news

Nvidia have had a number of attempts to force telemetry, are you saying the newest one isn't something you can turn off / disable?
I haven't used this, but it's currently maintained - recently updated, maybe it can help others that don't have BitDefender, or firewall settings to disable Nvidia telemetry call out's:

All I did here was use a hosts edit to kill the geforce update check and not install GeForce Exp by choosing custom install.
Here's another example of what someone else did for those looking as well. -

I did a clean install of Bloatware Free 5.9 today for the Windows Septemember patch that came out today, 0 issues, actually... after updating everything, and playing a few games, I no longer have issue with my Nvidia color profiles sticking anymore either, not sure if the Windows update did it or what, but yeah... very awesome.
I have shut up10 activated, SecHealth done, and Bitdefender Firewall on paranoid mode... everything is going peachy for me, don't think I will bother with Redstone 3 or any future updates for a solid 6-8 months, now that I have my color profile the way I want and no telemetry, its time to just have fun and enjoy.

I've been having to play in borderless window mode because the color profile would not revert back to default after exiting a fullscreen game. This was supposed to be fixed in Redstone 3, but did this September patch resolve it? -
Resolved it for me
but I am not using latest drivers, latest drivers break the color enfrocement (including in RS3 preview) but if you use ummm i forget the number, Nvidia drivers ending in .72 and its the mass effect launch drivers. these drivers work flawless at color enforcement (its the last driver they made that doesnt have that option when you overclock your refresh rate, there is an option under there to use nvidia color options or default, this was never there in older drivers, its this feature of the nvidia drivers that broke it, not windows itself... i have reformatted 15x this year, just cause well i get bored... so yeah thats what i have realized. regardless everything is finally working for me. im not touching anything anymore, all drivers are up to date except for my nvidia drivers obviously... but oh well. everything is running perfect so screw it, im not risking messing this up, not even with next months Windows update
im sure bitdefender can handle the next 6-8 months for me easily enough if things go cray cray on the virus end of the world, but meh. im not worried, i only game 24.7
