I'm using the 378.92 drivers, as more recent ones have issues with G-Sync, and sure enough, running a game in full screen after the September patch reset the monitor gamma correctly after exiting, so I'm well pleased with that result. NVIDIA has allegedly tracked down whatever the issue is with G-Sync. Perhaps that upcoming release will also address the color problem.

 

That is the driver I meant yeah! lol hey I am glad someone else was able to confirm my results woot. I'll see you all in 10 months or so, I am not touching RS3, but I'll be back for bloatware free RS4

I did find a temporary fix for Edge crashing after latest update at MalwareTips.com Windows 10 KB4038788 Botched. The fix is changing default Home page to Google and crash is fixed. I think Edge is thinking MSN as a security risk because of some certificate issue or maybe something else.

 

And M$ morons will pay those who find a fix for their mess?

 

Okay another temporary fix to speed up Edge, switch composition engine from Release to Canary (Experimental) by typing about:flags in address bar.

Fortunately it was only the 32 bit version that was infected, and not the 64 bit version I use and recommend, and I missed that infected version completely. I've updated to the current 5.34 64 bit edition.

Do a in-place upgrade instead of Clean install, I want to know if MSFT fixed their OS w/o needing a Clean install every time. Also, let us know if there are staggering difference in Clean-install versus In-place OS Upgrades.

 

clean install only takes me like 10 minutes, because of fiber net, cloud storage, and 5TB backup storage on HDD. clean installs are the only way to go imo, drivers change so often now, that with the Obsidian tool, its a breeze and fast. I can understand though not everyone is just a gamer like me.

 

Clean installs on SSD takes 5 mins on my PC and another PC with HDD takes 10 mins to install. So its not a issue with Clean installation times but the time needed to setup the entire PC is huge, takes 10-12 per PC tweaking things and checking everything's right and works as intended. Maybe @Phoenix can understand the time reqd to set up the device anew.

 

I see what you mean now, yeah you are right, it does take me about 2-3 hours in full now that I think about it. I'm still fine with doing it though, makes me feel cozy at night knowing its all sqeaky clean lulz i dunno

id go for the ryzen option, even if performance and cost is the same (dunno if it actually is off the top of my head, just saying), but ull have future proofing. amd is likely to stick to same socket for the next 1-2 cpu gens @ryzen2, ryzen3, etc...

I'm on my phone I can't type much. This ISO has all the editions you can imagine or dream of except Pro for workstation

 

Don’t forget the benchmarks. I’m sure @Mr. Fox ++ a lot others is interested in the results

And don’t forget checking the new Gpu monitoring in task manager working as expected. I don’t trust M$ on this. They can’t even make the Cpu monitoring work correct.

 

I will be watching for Brother @Phoenix to share more as well. I side-graded to RS3 yesterday. I ran it all day, decided I hated it too much to put up with and restored my RS2 Macrium Reflect image later that evening. I might give it another chance if he can show me a good reason to. It would need to be something meaningful, like the Redmond Mafia fixing their lackluster physics performance issues, although I doubt they will ever do that. It is kind of sad that we have been waiting for about three years for them to give us something better than Windows 7. Still waiting.

 

But, but you can have nice pastel colored tiles. Would be terrible if M$ went away from it And @Phoenix shouldn’t mess/aka uninstall the new modern apps. A must have!!

 

Well first impressions, the snapiness that I mentioned earlier when I tried RS3 Public Preview was not because of RS3, it was because of the fact that I installed Windows 10 Pro for Workstations. Yes trust me, that felt like a whole new Windows man! everything was super fast I could feel it and reboots took half the time literally. Now with this RTM RS3 but on Windows 10 Pro not Pro for Workstation, it feels no different to RS2.

Few changes I noticed:

- Default Programs from Control Panel is gone, no more full control, now it takes you to the PC Settings when you click it with that basic default program setting
- Power plans gone, only Balanced is there, but you can add your power plans back manually like High Performance and Power Saver
- Windows Firewalls has been renamed to Windows Defender Firewall, Micro$h4ft is planning on competing with the real security companies and now wants to brand its firewall.

That's it for now until I get more time to play with it

After I install your version am i able to update to new insider builds without all of the apps etc. that you removed getting reinstalled? Like if I update to a newer release of the OS from within your version will cortona etc be reinstalled when i update? Thanks and great work. Hopefully I will be able to like windows 10 now

 

Don't know really, I never install preview builds anymore after my very bad experience with them when I installed an RS3 Preview Build. That's for you to try but I strongly suggest you make an image using Macrium Reflect before you go ahead and login to the insiders stuff
