I'm using the 378.92 drivers, as more recent ones have issues with G-Sync, and sure enough, running a game in full screen after the September patch reset the monitor gamma correctly after exiting, so I'm well pleased with that result. NVIDIA has allegedly tracked down whatever the issue is with G-Sync. Perhaps that upcoming release will also address the color problem.

I can't read Chinese, what does that actually say?
“People often say ' A picture is worth a thousand words.' I believe the original quote was actually ' A picture is worth ten thousand words' as stated by Fred R. Barnard, of Printers' Ink, 10 March 1927.Jul 14, 2011
http://freakonomics.com/2011/07/14/a-pictures-worth-a-thousand-words/
The December 8, 1921, issue carries an ad entitled, "One Look is Worth A Thousand Words." Another ad by Barnard appears in the March 10, 1927, issue with the phrase "One Picture Worth Ten Thousand Words", where it is labeled a Chinese proverb.
A picture is worth a thousand words - Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_picture_is_worth_a_thousand_words
As it turns out, a picture is not worth a thousand words.
https://www.wired.com/insights/2014/03/turns-picture-worth-thousand-words/
"There is a saying that “a picture is worth a thousand words,” but in reality there is a fundamental difference between looking at a picture and reading. Our visual system evolved to process images essentially in parallel, whereas text, which only appeared a few thousand years ago, requires our visual system to scan individual characters, one at a time, recognize them, and piece them together into words, then sentences, and so on (a similar process occurs with ideographic languages).
One could say that a story is worth a thousand words, and that a video is worth a thousand images. But from the point of view of how we process information, there is a fundamental gap between text and images."Last edited: Sep 17, 2017Lynx2017 and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

Edit. More info about CCleaner Hacked and the affected versions
Closing Words
"The compromised versions of CCleaner and CCleaner Cloud were distributed for nearly a month. With over 20 million downloads per month, and the updates, that is a high number of PCs that have been affected by this."
Release Announcements-Piriform.com
"Issue Summary: Our new parent company, the security company Avast, determined on the 12th of September that the 32-bit version of our CCleaner v5.33.6162 and CCleaner Cloud v1.07.3191 products, which may have been used by up to 3% of our users, had been compromised in a sophisticated manner."

Here is the apology, non-technical and technical explanation by Piriform:
Security Notification for CCleaner v5.33.6162 and CCleaner Cloud v1.07.3191 for 32-bit Windows users
https://www.piriform.com/news/blog/...eaner-cloud-v1073191-for-32-bit-windows-users
"PAUL YUNG - VP, Products
Dear CCleaner customers, users and supporters,
We would like to apologize for a security incident that we have recently found in CCleaner version 5.33.6162 and CCleaner Cloud version 1.07.3191. A suspicious activity was identified on September 12th, 2017, where we saw an unknown IP address receiving data from software found in version 5.33.6162 of CCleaner, and CCleaner Cloud version 1.07.3191, on 32-bit Windows systems. Based on further analysis, we found that the 5.33.6162 version of CCleaner and the 1.07.3191 version of CCleaner Cloud was illegally modified before it was released to the public, and we started an investigation process.
We also immediately contacted law enforcement units and worked with them on resolving the issue. Before delving into the technical details, let me say that the threat has now been resolved in the sense that the rogue server is down, other potential servers are out of the control of the attacker, and we’re moving all existing CCleaner v5.33.6162 users to the latest version. Users of CCleaner Cloud version 1.07.3191 have received an automatic update.
In other words, to the best of our knowledge, we were able to disarm the threat before it was able to do any harm."
Further technical info is included, worth checking out...
"Again, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this incident could have caused to our clients; we are taking detailed steps internally so that this does not happen again, and to ensure your security while using any of our Piriform products. Users of our cloud version have received an automated update.
For all other users, if you have not already done so, we encourage you to update your CCleaner software to version 5.34 or higher, the latest version is available for download here. "Papusan likes this. -

I mean does it really matter anymore? My SSN, DoB, and so on so forth was part of the 144 million hack by Equifax, that information will be in the Dark Web for decades. I will be monitoring everything closely on a weekly basis if not daily, until the day I die. they will get a slap on the wrist though before they go on their Caribbean vacation, no worries bruhs.
One day people are going to realize that these pixelated pixel distractions and the newest shiny objects have all been a distraction, Samsung Galaxy 24 and iphone edition 23, maybe people will finally wake up and realize how dumb all this crap is, i graduated highschool 2006, was the last year before smartphones came out... man, so much noise in this world, so much noise... i dont even carry my cell with me when i go driving anymore, i just crank it loud as i crank it and zone out and screw if it bugs people, its not like we actually care about eachother anyway, the political correctness illusions of day to day habits yet when push comes to shove... we spend trillions in Middle East yet can't even afford medicine for our own people, and no one even blinks an eye. what a joke.Vistar Shook, Vasudev, Hidef1080 and 3 others like this. -

clean install only takes me like 10 minutes, because of fiber net, cloud storage, and 5TB backup storage on HDD. clean installs are the only way to go imo, drivers change so often now, that with the Obsidian tool, its a breeze and fast. I can understand though not everyone is just a gamer like me.Vasudev likes this. -

Hey guys quick question unrelated... not sure where else to post though... building a cheap rig for my nephew - should i get ryzn 7 1600 6 core 12 thread OC to 4ghz or i7 3960x Extreme Edition OC'd to 4.6ghz 6 core 12 thread. --- both would cost me same price including mobo/ram.

Few changes I noticed:
- Default Programs from Control Panel is gone, no more full control, now it takes you to the PC Settings when you click it with that basic default program setting
- Power plans gone, only Balanced is there, but you can add your power plans back manually like High Performance and Power Saver
- Windows Firewalls has been renamed to Windows Defender Firewall, Micro$h4ft is planning on competing with the real security companies and now wants to brand its firewall.
That's it for now until I get more time to play with itMr. Fox, hmscott, Vistar Shook and 2 others like this. -
