I think they are working the angle that if they screw up Win10 badly enough some people might come to the conclusion that "Win11 just can't possibly be worse, can it ?"
It's twisted, sure, but knowing Microshat it just might really be the angle they are in all seriousness working.

For those of you that don't want to buy the Win 10 Pro license on the grey market. PcWorld Store should be a legit and trustworthy web store.

The Pro version is the way to go if you later want to update to Win 11. Even if you prefer stay on Win 10. Newer doesn't always mean better.

Windows PrintNightmare: Microsoft confirms problems after September 2021 update borncity.com | September 18, 2021 by Günter Born

For months, there are a number of vulnerabilities in Windows Print Spooler service that are grouped under the term print Nightmare in all versions of Windows. Microsoft has been trying to completely close the vulnerabilities since July 2021, but has problems. The updates released for patch day on September 14, 2021 also cause problems that Microsoft has now partially admitted. There is advice on updating the printer driver in order to print again

Windows 10: Applications cannot be opened or closed again immediately has been fixed by Microsoft deskmodder.de September 25, 2021

After installing KB5005101 or later it can happen that apps and programs cannot be opened or are closed again immediately. Microsoft has corrected this error through the Known Issue Rollback (KIR) function. It will take about 24 hours for this problem to be resolved automatically. A restart helps that the problem is resolved sooner. As Microsoft writes, this error occurs on Windows 10, Server 2019 and Server 2022 when Microsoft Exploit Protection Export Address Filtering (EAF) is enabled. Other problems can be that files cannot be opened or that a white window appears when logging in.

The article also describes how to check the group policy. However, this is not necessary for us “normal” users. The group policy only regulates whether and how KIR can be carried out.

Thanks. Exactly the issue i just had. Outlook 2016 would crash just after startup. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not fix the issue. I ended up failing miserably a rollback to a point i had to restore an old image of windows 10. Then the issue came back.
I was able to resolve the issue by deleting the .json files in windows outlook 2016 directory.
I am pretty confident that this windows update was the source of the issue.

Really good find. It's funny but at the same time it's sad.
I personnally hate, Facebook with passion, but still i have an account with 5 friends only (family). The only reason i have this account was to get in touch with my daughter when she was a teenager.
Microsoft, facebook, google, apple and soon android etc...all those cie are too intrusive. They're business is to sell you more and more of their products. I hate that.

Microsoft now shows Windows 11 upgrade offer right in Windows 10 setup winaero.com

Windows 11 is now available for users, and Microsoft wants as many people to know about its latest operating system as possible. To let you know that your device supports (or does not) Windows 11, Microsoft uses a dedicated banner in Windows Update. Also, the company now tries to convince users to upgrade to Windows 11 during the Windows 10 setup experience or OOBE (out-of-box experience). Users on Reddit report spotting the offer when setting up their Windows 10 computers after reset or clean installation.

Be prepared. Better close all the doors. Microsoft will try to lure/trick you into buy newer pc/laptops to join their newest OS spybox/ads disaster called Win 11.

Microsoft is force installing PC Health Check in Windows 10 bleepingcomputer.com

Microsoft has begun force installing the PC Health Check application on Windows 10 devices using a new KB5005463 update.

Microsoft says that users who do not want PC Health Check on their system can simply uninstall it using the Settings app.

However, readers have told BleepingComputer that they have had to uninstall the application numerous times as the applications keep being reinstalled on the next check for updates

microsoft-edge: // Links can soon no longer be redirected deskmodder.de November 12, 2021 1:29 PM

Microsoft has added the protocol microsoft-edge: // under Windows so that links, for example from the wigdets, search or news in the taskbar, are opened directly in Microsoft Edge and not in the default browser.

It is not yet clear when Microsoft will release this “improvement to the worse” for everyone. As of Windows 11 22483 and then also 22494, the changes were made. So it can be that you wait until next year for the new Windows 11. But as we know, such functions can also be backported down to Windows 10 after a "successful" test.

Daniel is really angry and finds even more apt words in his post in the lower section.

Microsoft has no plans to bring Windows 11 emojis to Windows 10 windowslatest.com - November 26, 2021

Microsoft has finally started rolling out new Fluent Design-based emojis to Windows 11 users in the production channel. The new emoji experience is based on Microsoft's Fluent Design and it matches the modern look.

Unfortunately, it looks like Microsoft has no plans to bring these modern emojis to Windows 11. Windows 11’s emojis will remain exclusive to the new operating system, and Windows 10 users will not be getting any new emojis, at least for now. However, this could change in future.

Those whose worrywart nature compelled them to move from Windows 7 to 10 now, deja vu, find themselves in the same fear-driven propaganda campaign that is a self-fulfilling prophecy. It demonstrates the folly of paying attention to the propaganda. It is all smoke and mirror crap designed to benefit the Redmond Mafia. Sorry kids... nope, they don't really love you. They only pretended to so you would consent to being molested.

Microsoft under fire in Europe for OneDrive bundling; legal fight brewing computerworld.com

Nextcloud and 29 other companies have signed onto a complaint against Microsoft's bundling of its OneDrive file-sharing app with both Windows 10 and 11, saying it's nearly impossible for users to choose other file-sharing services.

And when will people/companies start sign onto a complaint against Microsoft's web browser? I still wait on what European antitrust authorities will do. Probably. But, there is always a remote chance that they will lose and the verdict will be so damaging that it will be difficult for them. I hope so. I hope it is devastating to them. It eventually caused crApple to pull their heads out on the right to repair. If they have to spend millions on attorneys fees and millions in a settlement, eventually the drain on financial resources will get the attention of pencil pushers and shareholders. Once in a while the civil justice system works as intended. I hope this turns out to be one of those times. As they say, " It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye." I hope they lose an eye. If that's what it takes to get their attention, it will be so very worth it for the rest of us.

And yeah... that other thing is a great example of what abject stupidity with no idiot filter looks like.

I believe they have intentionally (artificially) introduced problems in Windows 11 so they can make people think they are heroes as they roll out "fixes" to those problems that carry the malware payload bundled with the "fix" so people have to drink the poison to find a cure for the things that were broken. Better to install an older version that functions in the desired manner, then block updates. Security is a myth. It's all about them having control and using the fear of insecurity to coerce compliance. It is unfortunate that they have been stooping to the same level of Digi-Nazi shenanigans as crApple. They've been getting away with it for a while now. And, now both companies are a PC enthusiast's adversary. Neither one possess integrity and both are unworthy of any trust.

I'm confused: If I save HTM page and later try to open, it opens with Firefox which is my default browser and I don't use any workarounds. What am I missing? I didn't install specific updates, which is possible, since I do manual updates only, or I don't understand the issue? BTW MS will get another billion $ fine In EU if it's implemented up there me think, as this move is definitively anti something LOL

Microsoft: KB5008212 Windows security update breaks Outlook search bleepingcomputer.com | jan 6, 2022

Microsoft has acknowledged an issue triggered by a Windows 10, version 21H2 security update released during the December 2021 Patch Tuesday that causes search issues in Outlook for Microsoft 365.

The usual. New patches will be needed for patches that break previous patches.
