They are going to do what Google did (Material You trash). Copy that BS new Mac OS UI of rounded crap all over the place and kill the information density advantage that Windows has this will be reflecting in Explorer and other so called as per their "legacy" framework in the OS and rest of the OS will look like a childish pos with zero power user features and completely based on that Surface trash, since the team now building the OS is spearheaded by the same team at M$.
As for that bs economics and all rubbish junk, that's just the old news we had, Microsoft Store revamp to push the developers publish their "apps" (applications to us) with touch friendly garbage UI and since we already seen that they are going to push the updates through that cancer. Hope people do not use that M$ Store garbage at all, since it makes Windows more centralized disaster than the old school Win32 apps over the internet. But sadly many people with PC also buy that UWPs world's worst DRM As a Service Xbox Gamepass.
When you pair that with the idotic icons and the design direction driven by the nutcases who use iPads and iPhones the OS is going to look terrible as a desktop operating system. It's going to come and sadly we cannot do anything to stop. Only option I hope it has is give us the switch to control the Information density scaling like we always had with Windows at 100%.
But that's all UI part, we do not know how the UWP system breaks into Win32 and explorer and the control panel that we have AND the 32bit with backwards compatibility, those are more important to us since UI can be at-least tamed but the fundamentals cannot. Like this below which they were mentioning.
As per the job listing, Microsoft Program Manager will apparently work with the Project Reunion team to “define, design, plan, build major improvements to the Windows UX platform”.
Project Reunion cancer.
It's going to get worse from now, I can see it. Which is why buying a PC in DDR4 era and building it with Win7 as a mandatory install for all the programs and games until now and a Win10 dual boot if you like the new politically radical games and other "shiny" journo appeasing garbage PLUS run a proper Linux distro on the side as well. However there could be a Silver Lining, they speak on Monetization crap and UX, not fundamental since enterprises rely on that and China relies on it with huge chunk of cash, so may not see huge regressions in the core heart of NT Kernel anyways these dumb fools who ruin the UI are not at all skilled enough.
I forgot to mention most important aspect of my thought, they want to target younger generation to brainwash into their useful batteries to power up their ecosystem of walls and rules. Chrome OS is pushed in education systems across US for the same damn reason and also Apple cancer products made with BGA junk and other anti consumer garbage. When I was in high school it was Windows XP and then 7 but now every single dumb kid will be relegating themselves to these useless As a service products that will push their certified news, information, way to believe in them about technology and everything.

Windows 10 leak suggests Windows 8 charms bar-like feature is coming windowslatest.com - May 29, 2021
We reported recently that Microsoft's Sun Valley Update for Windows 10 will also include productivity and multitasking features in addition to cosmetic changes. Now there’s a bit more to add to the story.
The Charms bar was removed from all Windows 10 devices; both traditional desktops, and tablets as well. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Microsoft has given up on the idea. This new leak suggests that a similar feature will be added to Windows 10.Spartan@HIDevolution, KING19, Ashtrix and 2 others like this. -

Windows 10 is now nagging users with Microsoft Bing alerts windowslatest.com - May 31, 2021
A new update has brought back Microsoft’s recommendation for Bing and Chromium Edge on Windows 10. After Microsoft Edge 91, Windows 10 has now started displaying a pop-up message that appears through Windows 10’s built-in notification center.

Here’s why Microsoft removed the Windows Startup sound
Jensen Harris, the former Director of Program Management for the Windows User Experience team, explains in a new video the history of startup sounds in computers and what had happened to the Windows startup sound. The startup sound is no longer a part of Windows starting in Windows 8.
Yeah, Windows 10 ain't a real desktop OS. The last desktop OS was Win 7. Microsoft should have continued finished the Win 10X for thin clients as phones/tablet and their own Surface Jokes and instead fully revamped Win 10 to a real desktop OS. Not the Unisex mess it has become today.

@Mr. Fox @Ashtrix This is sonewhat good news. Maybe for the gamers who want newer LTSC build.
Windows 10 21H2 - There will probably be two versions after all deskmodder.de
June 1, 2021 12:24
Microsoft is making it really exciting this time. Because it looks like we're going to get two different versions of the Windows 10 21H2. For the "normal" users rather uninteresting.
This will certainly be due to the fact that the Windows 10 21H2 will be available again as an Enterprise LTSC version. The last version was Windows 10 1809 . Microsoft itself describes the upcoming Appraiser files as 21H2, 21H2Setup and CO21H2Setup. A change that has not yet been made.
So you can assume that we consumers will get the new Windows 10 21H2 with all the new icons and changes. The LTSC, on the other hand, will presumably forego any visual changes. Albacore assumes that we will get a 21xxx and the corresponding Enterprise the 19044 as a version number. We'll be surprised if it really turns out that way. Because the 19044 can already be activated in a home or higher as a build number
It would make sense anyway. Anyone who uses an LTSC in a company wants to work and not get used to visual changes. Whether the LTSC then stays at the status of the current 1904x (code name Vibranium) or receives the substructure from the code name Cobalt has to be seen. The changes compared to the earlier versions are always interesting.

Windows 10's package manager flooded with duplicate, malformed apps bleepingcomputer.com
Microsoft's Windows 10 package manager Winget's GitHub has been flooded with duplicate apps and malformed manifest files raising concerns among developers with regards to the integrity of apps.
Last week, Microsoft released the first stable version of its Windows 10 package manager, Winget, which enables users to manage apps via command-line.
Much like package managers available on other platforms, Winget lets Windows users automate app management when it comes to installing, configuring, upgrading, and uninstalling applications.
But, over the weekend, multiple users flooded Winget's software registry with pull requests for apps that are either duplicate or malformed, thereby raising concerns about the integrity of the Winget ecosystem.Last edited: Jun 2, 2021Vasudev, jclausius, Clamibot and 1 other person like this. -

Windows 10 KB5003637 update could break your taskbar, printer windowslatest.com - June 11, 2021
Windows 10 has a new bug which has been introduced thanks to its monthly security patch "KB5003637". The problem is that the update is messing up with the icons on the taskbar and desktop. This issue was first reported last month when users installed the optional and it seems to have slipped into the mandatory security update.
Windows 10 KB5003637 is a mandatory security patch and it’s part of the June 2021 Patch Tuesday update. A security patch is typically downloaded/installed automatically depending on Windows Update Settings. Going by reports on our comments section, Feedback Hub, and Reddit, it looks like some users are facing critical problems after applying the mandatory patch.

Windows 10 KB5004476 emergency patch released to fix Xbox issues windowslatest.com - June 12, 2021
Microsoft has published a new Windows 10 KB5004476 emergency (out of the band) optional update for PCs running version 21H1, version 20H2 and version 2004. As per the tech giant, Windows 10's latest emergency update will address issues experienced when using the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
KB5004476 is an out-of-band patch and it is marked as an optional quality update. This patch should be installed only if you’re having issues when downloading games part of the Game Pass from the Store. Since it is an optional update, it won’t download or install automatically.
Should you install the KB5004476 update on Windows 10?
Obviously, if you weren’t affected by Microsoft Store failures when downloading certain games, there’s no need to install out of the band.
There is a reason why it’s labelled “optional” and it’s possible that you can run into other issues if you apply the update that you don’t really need. There you have itLast edited: Jun 11, 2021saturnotaku, Vasudev and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

Windows 10 has a frustrating and annoying problem where Windows Update will only offer one optional update at a time.

Microsoft employee steals $ 10 million worth of Xbox credit
Said incident already occurred in 2017, but it is apparently only now attracting more public attention. At that time, the newly hired software engineer Volodymyr Kvashuk was commissioned to examine the infrastructure and security of Microsoft's e-commerce platform. It was probably specifically about the elimination of errors in Microsoft's payment system, in which Kvashuk actually discovered a glaring security gap. During the test purchase of prepaid cards for the Xbox marketplace ( from 10 euros on Amazon ), Microsoft's internal software simply spat out valid credit codes, which the developer, originally from Ukraine, simply couldn't get enough of in the following two years .Last edited: Jul 2, 2021Spartan@HIDevolution, Gumwars, Vasudev and 2 others like this. -

Windows 10 SSU integration into the Windows update is now possible for older versions [2nd update]
good Morning August 11, 2021 11:13 AM
[2nd update 08/10/2021]: Microsoft has announced that the combined updates (LCU + SSU) will now also be made available for Windows 10 1909, 1809 and Server 2019. These updates will then be displayed through the Windows Insider Pre-Release Category in Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).....
Since it can happen again and again that an SSU ( Servicing Stack Update ) has to be installed before the actual monthly update, it can also happen in the future that an SSU has to be provided separately. Microsoft tries to keep the number as low as possible. More about it here . -

Microsoft does and does, but cannot eliminate the source of the weaknesses. Basically, all that was left to do was rewrite the entire print spooler service to get out of this mess. But you want to avoid that and prefer to draw beautiful new pictures for users in the form of newly designed icons and user interface - but under the hood you have been dragging pretty broken code with you for decades. But as long as the user community happily greets every newly painted icon, Microsoft can continue to drive this boot. There is no alternative to anything - at least I hear it here on the blog quite often.
Yep, exactly as Microsoft do now for the new shiny Win 11. Just sad. -
And the patch fun for the newer Win 10 versions continue.
Microsoft Releases KB5005932 to Enable an In-Place Upgrade on Devices That Can’t Install Cumulative Updates wccftech.com
Microsoft has released the KB5005932 update to address a problem that was disrupting cumulative updates. The "PSFX_E_MATCHING_BINARY_MISSING" error was appearing for some users running Windows 10 version 21H1, 20H2, and 2004 when attempting to install the latest updates. This problem appeared after installing KB5003214 (May 25, 2021) and KB5003690 (June 21, 2021).
Microsoft explained why this Windows update issue occurred for some devices:
This issue occurs on devices that have been scavenged automatically to remove outdated resource records. When a system is scavenged, the recently installed latest cumulative update (LCU) is marked as permanent and the older components are removed from the system. After scavenging is complete and a device is in this state, you cannot uninstall KB5003214 or KB5003690, and you cannot install future LCUs.
To resolve this kind of problem, the company said that you need an in-place upgrade that installs an operating system on your device without removing the older version first.
