Oh man, new file explorer looks like crap...
Honestly I just wish they would add tab functionality and details pane on bottom (a la Windows 7) and that's it - it's perfect.
Hope the old file explorer will remain.Starlight5 and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
DirectX 12 Ultimate - Fully compatible with Windows 10 2004 and Xbox Series X
good Morning March 20, 2020
The DirectX developer team announced DirectX 12 Ultimate yesterday.
It's soon the time to try lure you over on latest and greatest
You may remember the "Ultimate power plan Scam" for Win 10 Pro Workstation OS. In short, you never got what they promised. Zero performance increase!
Microsoft has announced DirectX 12 Ultimate, a new version of the graphics technology underpinning both Windows and the upcoming Xbox Series X. Unveiled on Thursday, it’s one of many announcements originally scheduled for GDC 2020 that are carrying on despite the show’s cancellation.
If you buy new hardware with the DX12 Ultimate logo, you get all graphics hardware functions, including DirectX ray tracing, variable rate shading, mesh shaders and sampler feedback. It can be used in full with the new Windows 10 2004 (May 2020 update) or the Xbox Series X.Last edited: Mar 20, 2020 -

Oh well... not my circus, not my monkey.
Windoze OS X is the coronavirus of the PC world.
Of course. Nothing is too tacky looking for those that worship at the Digi-Nazi altar of filth. The people that have been making the aesthetic design decisions have been brain-dead since Windoze 8.X was vomited onto the world.Last edited: Mar 21, 2020Ashtrix, Spartan@HIDevolution, 6730b and 1 other person like this. -

Windows 10: Fix for skipped Defender scans
Published on March 24, 2020 by Günter Born
Under Windows 10, users find that Windows Defender skips elements during a scan and reports it. The cause is now clear and I present a solution in the blog post.
"Indicates whether to scan for network files. If you specify a value of $False or do not specify a value, Windows Defender scans network files. If you specify a value of $True, Windows Defender does not scan network files. We do not recommend that you scan network files," Microsoft documentation states.
Yeah, the change was intended, but the change run into a mess as usual.Last edited: Mar 23, 2020jclausius and Fire Tiger like this. -

Microsoft will pause the non-security updates from May 2020
good Morning March 24, 2020 7:00 p.m.
Microsoft has just announced that from May 2020 they will pause all non-security updates for Windows 10 1909 to Windows Server 2008 SP2, i.e. the C and D updates due to the Corona virus.
“We have examined the general health situation and we know that it affects our customers. In response to these challenges, we focus primarily on security updates. ”

Windows 10: Bug prevents Internet access
Published on March 26, 2020 by Günter Born
There is a bug in all supported versions of Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016/2019. This can prevent applications from establishing an Internet connection. A bugfix should not come until April 2020.
Microsoft states the cumulative update KB4535996 for Windows 10 Version 190x and the server counterparts of February 27, 2020 as the cause of this bug. Other updates must be responsible for older versions of Windows 10
Microsoft is working on a solution and aims to publish a special update (out-of-band updates) in the Microsoft catalog by early April. (

"Windows 10 Security: Change Your Password To A PIN, Says Microsoft"
- The insider notes for Windows 10 20H1 Build 18936 include details on how Microsoft is pushing for passwordless sign-in to Microsoft accounts on devices.
- This will be optional, by way of Settings|Accounts|Sign-in options using the new settings app that is slowly but surely replacing the old control panel.
- ...how a PIN can be more secure than a password? The key is understanding what the PIN protects here and how a PIN actually works in this context.
- "The PIN is tied to the specific device on which it was set up. That PIN is useless to anyone without that specific hardware." It's a second factor, in other words, the first being physical access to the Windows 10 device itself.

Not the big difference between tablet and many of today's #high performance# laptops. Maybe one of the reasons Micro$lope went back to old sins. And as you know, M$ create and sell own hardware equal as Apple... Of course the new modern OS will be as is and not for proper computers. This is just sad.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Start Menu redesign doesn't really bother me much to be honest. It still pretty much looks the same.
What bothers me more is the UWP File Explorer and eventually going away with Control Panel. Not that is scary. -
Yes, and those product downgrades are just further evidence of how deep and irreversible their brain damage is.
I would replace their crappy Start menu even if they hadn't downgraded it because the dullards in control of the aesthetics can't seem to break free from whatever illicit drugs have impaired their judgement. I never expected that screwed up mess to improve, but there was a sliver of hope that some day those losers would be fired and replaced by people with enough intelligence to undo their craptastic failures.Last edited: Apr 9, 2020 -

Microsof use algorithms and machine learning models instead for proper testing of all their patch updates. And as usual it continue in same way as usual.

Gees, Windows will be a problem for me if I ever have to go through a million screens to reach my target, it's not happened yet...I've created a few shortcuts, etc, but for me with Windows 'debacle' they should focus on stable releases and tone down the useless window dressing and minor updates. Covid slowed them down, learn from that please Microsoft, you're not in a race thankyou!

Microsoft Reportedly Delays Windows 10X Powered Dual-Screen Devices Beyond 2020 wccftech.comLast edited: Apr 12, 2020Mr. Fox and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
Here I found this, no wonder why the UI took a huge downward spiral and also the same aspect on how the Mozilla is also at the same place, and Google as well many of their devs use iPhones only (probably also caused the Scoped Storage disaster ( 1 more link) on Android 10+, ofc more reasons are there which are controversial to put here as it's more of a politics and etc..I'd say PC culture), all of these new fancy people use that garbage anti consumer Apple only. M$ peaked it's design & tech during Windows 7 era and then now in this new world these companies have a massive identity loss and huge loss of commonsense too and have an agenda as well.
After some trial and error, we found a streamlined toolkit we were all comfortable using. We went from using Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, Adobe XD, Dropbox, and local servers to using only Sketch ( Yes! we use Macs), OneDrive, and Abstract.
@Papusan LTSC is supported for more than 5 years just like the RTM Win7 SP1 and 8.1. But the biggest problem is the WDDM system, they always update that with every Windows 10 SAC release, which is the biggest problem. As in 2020 we are still seeing some games still having Win7 support, best eg is DOOM Eternal and the disaster RE3R but if you see the Cyberpunk they aren't and they mention it as Win10 only (I do not have hopes on that game due to multitude of reasons (clue is the OG teaser back from 6 years ago cinematic, mocap model vs the recent Fem V change and hugely changed artstyle), which will definitely mandate some version of Win10, since up until today, we never saw a game which only runs on that garbage OS, barring the UWP trash and Xbox game pass GaaS cancer. And also it will force a driver version, DOOM Eternal forced me to upgrade to a newer driver version, with Win10--WDDM--DX12 chainlink they can effectively render all the LTSC installations useless for games.
All good things come to an end, I do not have hope in these corporations anymore, they lie through their teeth and rip off people and make them dumb. Then take control over them as well.Last edited: Apr 12, 2020 -
I'm thinking about giving up everything I have enjoyed in the PC world for about 30 years. New AMD hardware (CPU and GPU) is just locked-down garbage that won't overclock worth a damn, so no point in benching that junk. If they force keeping Windoze OS X current on the cancer transfusions I'll give up gaming, too. Perfect scenario for kicking Windoze to the curb for good, and just using Linux for web browsing and email. Only reason I haven't already done that is Linux can't do everything I want and need it to, but if I am not doing those things anymore then Windoze is no longer relevant to me and at that point, I no longer have any need for it. And, I'd just as soon not own a computer of any kind than use any of the filth from crApple. If computing ain't on my terms, it ain't gonna happen. The thought of bowing to the rubbish kings or drinking their wee-wee tainted Kool-Aid makes me want to puke.Last edited: Apr 12, 2020jclausius, Spartan@HIDevolution, Ashtrix and 1 other person like this.

I do not want to take all grief in advance. Wait and see... And there will always be new Enterprise / LTSC versions. I won't go back to standard Win 10 Pro. Too much broken garbage with each new released version. Always stay a couple versions behind the latest and greatest flawed. Microsoft Just can't make it work properly the first 12 months.

Cumulative Update bugs spur Microsoft to call for help. Where’s the telemetry when we need it? computerworld.com | April 27, 2020
The recent round of complaints about bugs in KB 4549951, this month’s Win10 version 1903 and 1909 cumulative update, have prompted a request from Microsoft to sound off. That’s great. But you have to wonder why we’re sending Microsoft all of this telemetry when it can’t pinpoint straightforward patterns.
Micro$lope don't gather up much Telemetry for bug fixes. It seems they are more hang up into what you have on your pc
