New Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Redstone 5 (Build 1809:17763.107)

The ordering number is:

1) Adobe Flash Update

2) Servicing Stack (required before the cumulative update), then reboot

3) The latest Cumulative update then reboot

Instructions on how to install CAB files are in the ZIP file

I just name the update1.cab, update2.cab, update3.cab

then I copy/paste the following command in an elevated command prompt:

dism /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\update\update.cab

Obviously you want to place the update in a folder called update in the root of C:

• We fixed the issue where dragging (extracting) files from a .zip file in File Explorer to a write-protected location you don’t get a “Do you want to replace these files” prompt and the copy action fails silently.
• We fixed an issue causing roaming profiles to not work correctly.

My dell updated to the original Oct update and I find it works great after settling in.

 

Why do you want to update to v1809 anyway? Even v1803 hasn't rolled out properly and my cousin's laptop failed to install v1803 and it was downloaded several times over the course of time and I had to cleanup 70GB of WU cache of failed v1803 updates and other junkware W10 refusing to delete and after deleting everything, I used my custom v1803 ISO to update it in 30 mins w/o any glitches.
I am using v1803 until its killed off, I don't have time to Clean install W10 to get one or two minor feature I never use.

j00 know what bro? Everytime I keep reading about this bug here and that bug there, my OCD gets disturbed! Then I think of downgrading. I attempted two installs of Windows 7 on my taptop with a major fail, the setup could not find any drives even though I did integrate the drivers correctly so I gave up and went back to 1809 with the latest updates and you know what?

As much as I despite Windows 10, this is one of the fastest builds out there with 0 bugs for me. At least it freakin' connects to my Wifi automatically upon a reboot which was a major problem with Redstone 3 and 4 where they would not connect always after a reboot. It also is the snappiest after you get rid of all the Windows Store filthy apps and disable Telemetry with O&O ShutUp10

 

I do not want to in the literal sense, but more strategically. The key words were "crash test dummy" and the most damning criticism of a product, and words that carry the most weight, come from those that hate a product they use daily and still have nothing nice to say about it.

For example, I hate iPhone and I have been an iPhone user for like 5 years. I anticipated as much as an observer, but have confirmation based on my experience as a user. Thankfully, I don't have to waste my own money on such a piece of garbage, but the point is that my contempt for it is not conceptual or hypothetical. My opinion is based on long term hands-on experience. Same principle here... ' know thine enemy' LOL. Authoritative hate for garbage carries more clout than just being a troll. You sneak in on the Trojan horse and do the damage from the inside out, when it is least expected. More of a seek and destroy mission at this point than a rescue effort.

 

Micro$haft's engineers like to toy with emoji and other useless new features, but can't fix the core functionality in their modern OS trash What if they instead used more time on current OS builds instead of puke/spew out new useless versions two times a year?

It would seem so. All my devices both dell and apple are running extremely well.

 

Good, many are happy with their choice of technology, I am too (w8.1 with a few fixes, Android phones, subject to the axe for privacy and removal of (cr)app. All working very well). Even 10 1803 is very good now, after cleanup work and use of the excellent privacy tools available.

But lots of users harvest troubles and plagues from the experiments released from MS' Frankenstein castle at Redmond, no doubt about that. Am browsing tenforums.com now and then, funny to read posts by many of the professional fanboys & worshippers there, even them being hit hard lately (both their pc's and their religious belief).

About w.8.1, my daily\main laptop still on the original install, working perfect and zero problems (see attach.). Would be nice to see 10 someday getting as stable...

As all the previous Win10 builds.. they were all using TSC timer (3.23 MHz) but.. on Win10 1809 they are using an unknown timer which translates to (10.00 Mhz) even the author of TimerBench went like [] and he even got confused which timer is Win10 1809 is using

I even posted it here while showing my OC's but it seems no body noticed it

Long story short... after testing & experiencing the snappiness & smoothness switching between 1803 & 1809.. I can confirm that Win 10 1809 have much better snappiness & smoothness than the 1803 but same performance related to gaming & benchmarks

It seems like Microsoft is trying to improve performance at the expense of serious bugs

It seems like nobody cared or knows about it but.. I guess I am the one who discovered it

Game Mode is a big, fat, ugly, pimple-covered teenager gimmick. Worthless as the tits on a boar. It provides no benefit on the GPU side (unless you consider 0.5 FPS enough beyond a normal margin of error to be called a success). But, this should come as no surprise because... So I hope Game mode app and settings for it was enabled in settings app.
I noticed CPU and GPU temps dropped by 5C in Game mode when I am gaming and at the same time if I pause it the temps shot upto 70-80C on CPU and GPU with 5% usage. Seems odd to me!
I'm going nuts!!!

 

This is actually a benefit that should stay broken. I hate notifications and Action Center, so I intentionally disable them both. Having those broken could save the extra work. I wish they would break more of their trash "functionality" in this abortion PC smartphone OS.

If we are lucky, for their next trick they'll accidentally break UWP filth apps, Store and Cortana the digi-slut and won't be able to find a way to resuscitate them.

Many businesses use Skype for Business, but that is much like a legacy IM product in most respects. Thankfully, it does not resemble the consumer version of Skype, as I have to use it 8 to 10 hours a day for work and I despise the consumer version of Skype. That would be horrible.
