Others (including me) have noticed that this happens. Probably just a software conflict/clash. Likewise, f you use Group Policy Editor or manually tweak some registry keys to change certain settings they do not always show as already being changed using third-party utilities like Winaero Tweaker.

I doubt that either program is malfunctioning. O&O Shutup10 is probably showing that because WUB has taken control of that setting and it no longer has the ability to implement the same tweak. Because access is denied and it cannot change it to green in its own UI it shows up in the way you have noticed.

Hey Mr. Fox I don't know where else to reply. So I gave my laptop to Hidevolution for repair. I was getting the 4 beeps on POST and thought it was a ram issue. They replied back saying its a mobo issue and they will be getting a new one. Is there any way I can keep my OS intact without doing a fresh install? I really don't wanna use Win 10 and have an awesome Win 7 tweaked setup running on it (like it won't allow updates to 10, various registry tweaks, etc.). Thanks for your time.

Hi bro. You should be OK. You should not require an OS reinstall after replacing the mobo with another one just like it.

How to delete Downloaded Windows Update Files in Windows 10

If you are running into issues with Updates, you can try to delete downloaded Windows Update files. When an update package is damaged or fails to install, Windows 10 may keep the corrupted file on the drive, so it will further cause issues with updates. Here is how to delete the downloaded Windows Update files that Windows 10 doesn't delete itself.

How to Permanently Uninstall Microsoft Teams on Windows 10

If Microsoft Teams keeps reinstalling itself on your Windows PC and launching itself at boot, there’s a solution. You can’t just uninstall Microsoft Teams the usual way: You have to uninstall it twice.

It’s silly, but that’s how it works. Specifically, you’ll have to uninstall both “Microsoft Teams” and the “Teams Machine-Wide Installer.” If you just uninstall the Microsoft Teams application, the machine-wide installer will reinstall it every time you sign in to your PC. To completely uninstall Teams, you have to remove both applications.

How to create a local account in Windows 10 1909 if the option is not available

Recent reports suggested that Microsoft removed the offline option from the setup experience, at least for some. We decided to install different editions -- Pro, Pro N and Home, Home N and Home SL -- of Windows 10 version 1909, the upcoming version of Windows 10, to find out if the setup experience changed indeed.

We installed Home and Pro editions of Windows 10 version 1909 multiple times and the offline account option was presented to us each time. It is quite possible that Microsoft is A-B testing the chance or that the change affects only some regions and not others.

How to get the old F8 Menu back while booting which includes Safe Mode:

Getting into Safe Mode in Windows 10 is a bit of a nuisance. Say you are not able to boot for some reason or simply want to go to Safe Mode directly, you either need to let Windows try to load then fail, hard shutdown, try again, hard shutdown, until you get the recovery options which then requires a few clicks and yet another reboot and even when choosing Safe Mode in recovery mode sometimes it doesn't work!

The other option is if you are able to login to Windows to do it by launching MSCONFIG and choosing Safe Mode.

With this guide, you can bring back the old F8 Boot menu that we all loved and gives us a few boot options including Safe Mode,

    1) Click Start > Windows System > then right click on Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator

    2) Type regedit , then hit Enter.

    3) Navigate to the following key:

    Code:
    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Configuration Manager
    4) Under Configuration Manager, right click and create a new “ DWORD (32-it value)” and name it BackupCount

    5) Double click on BackupCount and change the value to 2

    6) Go back to Configuration Manager then right click on it,and create a new Key called LastKnownGood

    7) Right click on LastKnownGood and create a “ DWORD (32-it value)” called Enabled

    8) Double click on Enabled and change the value to 1

    9) Exit REGEDIT , you should be back at C:\Windows\System32 in the command prompt window

    10) Copy/Paste the following line then hit Enter:

    Code:
    BCDedit /set {Current} BootMenuPolicy Legacy
    11) You will get a message saying “ Operation Completed Successfully

    12) Reboot your computer and keep hitting the F8 key, you will now get a menu with boot options including Safe Mode.

I dowloaded and installed Win 10 1909 on the old laptop for test purposes. I'm not sure what Dell's engineers have done screwed up on the Alienwares but InSpectre tool work exactly as intended. And it works on all the machines I have tested it on @Mr. Fox

How do I find the Intel microcode? I'm on 1.7.3 BIOS.

Yeah seems fine done a few restarts and remains disabled. Does it increase performance by disabling or is the difference so small I wouldn't notice?

You should be able to find it in the Windows Registry, Aida64, Hwinfo64 etc. Here is an old guide for yooo  Google is your friend, bruh :hi:
Depends on how far Dell's engineers have crippled the laptop.

Not sure if your 9700K with Intel 'R0 stepping use new/other Microcode. But Intel's latest Microcode Update Guidance dated Aug 31, 2019 show 0xAE as latest.
    upload_2019-10-16_22-11-54.png

The same does Micro$lope for their latest Microcode patch - 1903. Test it if you run Win 10 1903. The patch shouldn't install MCU if the one you have is newer.

I re-ran InSpectre and it said there were no Microcode updates available. I did attempt to download the patch above but it stated it wasn't available, likely been locked down by Dell then?

Sorry I revisited this, I did not download the correct installer... I was still half asleep earlier. I downloaded the correct installer (x64 instead of x86) and it has applied successfully, however, my Intel Microcode has remained the same. Its all a learning experience for me, I don't even know what half this stuff means. Let me know if you need anything further.

How to add AHCI Link Power Management to Power Options in Windows

AHCI Link Power Management configures the link power management mode for disk and storage devices that are attached to the system through an AHCI interface. In Windows 10 you can add the "AHCI Link Power Management" option to the Power Options applet of the classic Control Panel. It is a hidden option that is not visible by default.

Winaero Tweaker 0.16.1 with minor improvements also interesting for Windows 7

We have been reporting on the Winaero Tweaker ever since it was created by Sergey and that was in 2015. A lot has happened since then and a lot has been improved in order to be able to adapt Windows, whether 7,8,8,1 or 10 faster...

Be unpaid guinea pig without a Microsoft account.

How to Join the Windows Insider Program with a Local Account
To join the program and install the preview builds, you need a Microsoft account and a PC running Windows 10. An independent developer has now created a command-line script 'Offline Insider Enroll' to enroll Windows 10 PCs in the Insider program without a Microsoft account.

How to add All Tasks to Control Panel in Windows 10

In Windows 10, Microsoft is moving everything from the classic Control Panel to the Modern crapp called "Settings". It has already inherited many options which were exclusively available in the Control Panel. If you prefer using the classic Control panel, you might want to add some extra applets to it to make it more useful.

How to Restore Classic Search in File Explorer in Windows 10 version 1909

With a recently released update KB4532695, Microsoft tried to resolve several issues that made their first appearance with the public release of Windows 10 version 1909 'November 2019 Update'. After installing the patch the search is finally usable, but its behavior is ridiculously different from the classic Search box of File Explorer in OS versions prior to 1909.

Hi Guys can you suggest which one to use or all of them and in what order
as its getting quite confusing as more and more tweak programs are coming out.
These I feel are the best ones out there.
    I'm running 1909

    WPD

I first use Portable CCleaner offline for Store Apps then once online I Block it, and I use Sledgehammer (formerly WUMT Wrapper Script) for all my downloads manually as it blocks windows update.
So I don't think I need WUB Thanks

Turn On or Off Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling

    1) Download this ZIP file which contains 2 REG files, one to turn on and another to turn off Hardware-Acceleration GPU Scheduling.

    2) Ensure the ZIP file is not blocked by right clicking on it > Properties, then look at the bottom, if it says this file was blocked because it was downloaded from the internet, just hit the unblock button then Apply then OK.

    3) Double click on the file named Turn On Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling.reg to merge it with the registry.

    4) Reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.

Tried it out, but for some reason even after applying the reg patch the Windows Settings Graphics Settings doesn't show that option toggle - I did reboot as well.

The system I tried it on has a 2070 Super, driver 442.19 and Windows 10 1909, but it appears the setting needs 20H1, and I am running 19H1:
    Current Windows version.JPG

Starting at this post in this thread, it seems I either need an insider build of the OS, an as yet unreleased 20H1, and perhaps an insider build of the Nvidia driver?

Also, this doesn't look promising, of course it's just 1 test by 1 guy :)

    Ok, 2 tests...

Those are from 11/19, so perhaps the 20H1 + Nvidia release driver will pump up the scores, but it's not out till April 2020, so I'll probably wait for the full release to come out and watch for bugs first. :)

April 2020 - We track the history of the development builds released for the 20H1 feature update for Windows 10 which is scheduled for release in the March/April 2020 time frame.

Switch Between Command Prompt or PowerShell on WinX Menu

Recently Microsoft made right clicking on the Start Menu in Windows 10 Offer you to run Power Shell or Power Shell (Admin) instead of the old Command Prompt or Command Prompt (Admin).

If you prefer to have it display the old Command Prompt instead of Power Shell in the context menu, you will find 2 batch files below, simply right lick on the one you want it to display and choose Run as Administrator.

You don't even need to reboot for this to work, the batch file will automatically restart Explorer for you and show you the new listing in the context menu.

Download Switch Between Command Prompt or PowerShell on WinX Menu Batch Files

Probably just another Micro$lop fairy tale/gimmick to get the kiddos excited. I doubt the Redmond Retards are going to do anything that actually boosts performance in a meaningful way. If they actually cared about that, Windows 10 wouldn't be such a bloated abortion.
