LOL... Thanks for the update, McGrady... probably during business hours is my guess at this point.

I hope you know that you will not be able to integrate SP1 (slipstream). You'll have to buy a new DVD (or get hold of one). The tool that helps slipstreaming is also updated in the same time, therefore causing the process to fail.
-
Id do another clean install if i could only get my hands on a 64bit install disk with sp1 integrated.
Definately a very clean OS install.

Nothing yet.

Is this release for all versions of Vista. I remember hearing sometime back that the Vista Ultimate SP1 would be released at a later date because of the language packs. Also is the 64-bit SP1 part of this release?
-
Yep but where the hell is it?
-
Has microsoft officially announced that it will be released today?

This really only makes sense to do in two cases. One is where you MUST include the drivers into the installer. (For example for XP installs on machines without a floppy drive and require SATA drivers, you have no choice except to slipstream the drivers into an installer.) The other case is where you plan to install a fully updated OS on several machines. Like in an office, school, store etc.

Now is this version for Vista Ultimate? I thought there was something that was going to cause a delay of SP1 for Vista Ultimate users. Can anyone confirm this?

It's out right now as a standalone download. Not through Windows Update yet though.

Here is the info about SP1. most notable.... the windows update only downloads the bytes changed in the update so it is much smaller than the standalone version 65mb vs. 450mb for the standalone.... just thought this would be good to know for people who dont plan on doing a fresh vista install. -

Where did you even find that?? I found it when I followed your link, but when I check myself I can't find a 64-bit or 32-bit. Yeah, I'm waiting for the 32 bit installation as well -

For 64bit Vista, 5 languages:

For anyone getting this update... i would recommend installing through windows update as it only updates the files that are specifically needed meaning that the install is 65mb instead of 450... probably will be a much cleaner install as well...
Windows Vista SP1 was released!
