    Here is the findings of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences on emf and health issues. "EMF field strength and an increased risk for childhood leukemia, their findings indicated that such an association was weak." I have see many studies like this, there is no correlation of health issues to EMF.

    It's just amazing. I installed Win 7 again, and every time I deferred a Windows update with telemetry, next time I would search for updates, a new one which also was listed in this thread appeared. It's incredible, that Microsoft folk is persistent like nothing. It's probably best practice, to default-not-install any Windows updates from this point onwards, until one has enough to confirm, that it's not telemetry-related.

    I also wanted to say thx for this thread to Matrix Leader btw.

    Thanks.. I agree with a 90' EMF field being an inaccurate reference., hence my correction post. Input noted and addressed.
    What concerns can RF pose in this particular context was still my general point.
    What harmful effects Smart Meters were producing when first introduced to the grid compared to today is also a worthy consideration. With all the public reaction to answer to.

    I'll see what I can find to put this point to rest.
    Considering that most of us are dependent and basically forced to use the censored web for updated information these days., We all have to consider the sources, pro or con.

    And just when I finally got my perfectly molded tin-foil helmet to stop receiving AM radio
    stations emitting from a tooth filling... 32 miles away. :vbsmile:

    Has anyone noticed a recent update kb3112336. When I google it it says to help with upgrade scenarios from 8.1 to windows 10. To make a smother experience when upgrading.

    I think it was released a couple days ago . I have windows 8.1. Just bearly got around to Googling it.

    Kb3112343 is the update for Windows 7 users. Kb3112336 is update for Windows 8.1 users. Both are for making your upgrade to windows 10 easier and better.lol

    thankfully i did a full wipe and install after doing a backup of my 8.1 with macrium reflect....just in case bad things go down!

    I have my origional 8.1 restore disks and I have 3 different system images of my 8.1 .I keep an up to date system image and a couple from 3 or 4 months ago just in case. I'm not updating to windows 10 until I'm forced to 3 years from now when I decide to buy a new laptop. My laptop works just fine with 8.1 .

    i am testing win 10 for my own sake....though i made sure not to use precision x or afterburner.

    i like the UI styling and i have disabled the telemetry and driver updates so it doesn't force this stuff unnecessarily.

    so far no but then the only differences are:

    newer win 10 build
    using a 120hz panel

    so far the boot screen flashes on and off a few times... but other than that it boots in fine.

    unsure, i think it was a by-product of the TPs because it was persisting into win 8.1 even after doing clean installs.

    EDIT: I have done a lot of updates that i have no idea what is causing it...could be the IMEI firmware i flashed in months ago...could be anything.

    EDIT2: i have disabled fastboot in my BIOS/UEFI settings so will see if that helps. it has persisted even with the upgrade to a 120hz panel so it's something on the system. i initially thought it was the OS but it might be a firmware that's causing it....maybe the IMEI?

    To be honest I'm scared to try windows 10. My laptop work perfect right now and has since the day I got it. Except some jacked up drivers from nvidia. But that's an easy fix just go back to last good working driver. I'm scared if I go to 10 I will end up with problems. And I like the idea of just being able to turn my laptop on and use it for gaming or whatever I want without having to troubleshoot or constantly mess with it just to get it to work properly.

    I feel the same way, Player2.
    I have an out of town PC expert/friend I'm in contact with, now and then. He pretty much says it how he see's it.
    He's on the fence about our efforts here saying in vague terms, "We should do what we must... It all adds up to
    exposure and a possible public intervention."

    From what I gathered from my last contact with him, He's told me it's too early to say how much, or little, W10's
    going to change the face of the "once perceived" windows experience. Only "in the long run" will that play out.

    The major changes he's observed below are here and now.
    Personal management and Admin controls being stripped from the users options. To what ultimate degree...
    Still undetermined. Want to move a file here to there? Good luck. Cross your fingers while likely not.
    Have any apps that came to you by any means, unlicensed to you? Gone.

    I'm not sure about the details on exactly how that all plays out.     I will question my friend more about specifics
    in the future. We covered a lot of ground in different areas at the time we last spoke. I need a dictation recorder
    around this "sharp as a nail, old fart."

    -edit If and when receiving a W10 install over an existing O.S... edit-
    Essentially., W10 takes the high ground and uses the root directory to access and I.D. any app that utilized unusual
    install behaviors. Exposing a key generator's path way would serve as a logical target in this case, as well.
    Not to mention., The key generator itself.
    Any app that gets installed with a path including a key generated insertion gets flagged for receiving the key,
    Which obviously starts the disablement and purging of I.D.'d suspect apps including files created under those
    same apps.

    Whether the user is allowed to address the flagging of an app with a curtain amount of time to verify licensing
    rights or submit an explanation to prove authorized access use of said apps before a system purges it is unknown
    to me at this time. I personally won't dare to have an activated W10 O.S. on any machine I own.

    IMO., Based on a known KB file meant to disable legacy games, etc. for whatever legitimate backdoor access
    they pose as a W10 security risk is BS.
    Ever get the feeling that the real need for W10 is to establish/create a totally dependent social network
    portal O.S.? Accommodating the ripened and dumbed-down, next generation., Just to get them/us "hooked up"
    with a dangling carrot called Direct X12.

    Aka.... Coaxing a big step toward a collective framework, disguised as your unsolicited Social Gaming Console O.S.

    This speculatively imagined scenario could possibly lead to sever penalties for any attempts circumvent the latest
    O..S. on your own terms... On your own machine.
    Including wiping or re-formatting a drive, all together. The next generation O.S. in the name of HLS. can legally
    hijack every PC/or net dependent O.S.machine to conform to a new roll in this little nightmare.

    Some might say "fear-mongering." Fine. Doesn't change a thing to those with "COMMONSENSE."

    Just wanted add... If your at that point of having to submit or feel a forced install is eminent of W10 for whatever reason...
    It might be wise to backup any important user files and uninstall any suspect apps your not sure of.
    Some of us have trusted, pre-owned, systems that never required a clean install. Yet, apps said
    to be cool may not have keys.
    Unless you know otherwise...
    Contact the app provider and see what they a can do to provide an activation key for you... "In your grave concern. ;)" This puts you in
    the best light in all cases and you might get a pardon from the app provider in the process.
    Of course, It goes without saying... Backing up must-save user app files in this event will be accessible again if you intent to re-establish
    the app in your name.
    Just remember... No key.. Remove it.

    There are options to block everything belonging to the Windows 10 upgrade and also updates to the Internet Explorer in the Group-Policy-Manager. If you got the Pro-version, use those options, the update you talk of didn't even get offered to me :) .

    Believe it or not, but today is wednesday, so yesterday was the time when Microsoft publishes their updates, I recieved 9 security-related updates that basically all resolve around one newly discovered weakness and 1 optional update that does something with the time-zones. None Win 10 or telemetry related update! Maybe the option in the group-policy-manager to defer everything that has to do with Win 10 is better than many suspect.

    It's still Tuesday in this part of the World; yesterday when we posted was Monday :)

    Thanks for the heads up, if you can include the names/purpose, why it is or isn't something to block for each KB that would be helpful as well. Check post #1 for examples.

    Anything that can save others time is what we are looking for, and we encourage everyone to double check the results.

    We have missed some and added some not needed in the past, so moving forward we like multiple inputs before adding/removing new KB's to the uninstall/don't install list.

    Every week we check out the new KB's and add any to the list that are Windows 10 / Telemetry related.

    Everyone's input is welcome :)

    I haven't been actively checking the KB's in a couple of weeks, as I have turned off Updates.

    Windows 8.1 is stable for me, and after I got a bunch of Office 2013 updates, and cleaned up after that, I am taking a break for a while. :)

    @Matrix Leader how goes the ongoing / never ending list maintenance? :)

    Thank you for the details, there aren't many usually, so I when I am active I search the internet daily for the new KB's to see if anyone has noticed anything out of the ordinary about them.

    It takes a few days, weeks even at times, for things to show up - so it's good to keep a list of KB's installed and search for updates from time to time.

    MS reuses / issues KB numbers, to fix problems with a previous issued KB number - instead of retiring that number and issuing a new number - so it can get confusing at times what the newest version of a particular KB number is really doing - fixing an old problem - fixing an old problem a new way - or something else.

    The postings yesterday based on the heightened awareness article is valid for future weekly updates - just because nothing came through this week doesn't mean it won't play out in the upcoming weekly updates. Or it could go quiet for a while as well. That would be nice :)

    Just wanted to say, be safe people. Back up your data and do it often. Once the important updates come through it could be a long cycle of the system continually trying to update to W10 and placing your data at risk.

    The December version of the Windows Update Client was listed as an important update, KB3112343. This update is for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 users. Similar to the KB3083324 and KB3083710 updates, I have hidden this update. Matrix Leader, please add KB3112343 to your master list of updates.     I should add that I have Windows 7 Pro installed on my computer. I assume there is a similar update for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2.

    I just made another system image of my windows 8.1 installation.
    It's seams it's only a matter of time before ms sends us something that causes our computers to automatically update to windows 10 and then they say oh were sorry there must have been a bug in one of our updates . Sorry about that. We will see if we can fix that for you in the next year or so. Oh we also forgot to tell you that you can't reinstall your old operating system after switching to w10. Have a nice day.

    That's why I started keeping the GWX app running in Monitoring mode - it's gone off the last 2 weeks when checking for Windows Updates on Windows 8.1.

    GWX monitoring notices the Windows 10 Upgrade Enable change MS does each time, and put's up a dialog, so I can then disable it again in GWX - rebooting - and it goes away.

    This is what GWX looks like when everything is ok, and I highlighted what has changed after checking Windows Updates the last 2 weeks:

    Hi, I read this https://github.com/Nummer/Destroy-Windows-10-Spying/issues/151 and want to ask who is Nummer? Hes the only one I could find reporting these updates as malicious with no detail. What makes that guy so trustworthy to make you not install better encryption methods and fix for kernel vulnerability?

    I believe he believes they are indeed compromised, otherwise he wouldn't be sticking to keeping these KB's in the uninstall list.

    You can put the DWS app in Professional mode, and uncheck those 3 KB's, and they won't be uninstalled.

    The GWX Control panel is specifically only for stopping the Windows 10 upgrade activity - it stops the upgrade notices, stops the downloads - and cleans up any downloads that might have already happened.

    The GWX Control panel doesn't uninstall KB's from Microsoft that are trying to do the upgrade, or stop the KB's that are doing keylogging / telemetry, or stopping the related processes.

    For that you need something like Destroy Windows Spying for Windows 7 / 8 / 10. DWS updates continue to add additional remediation for MS's KB's for everything related to Windows 10 upgrades, keylogging, telemetry, etc so check for new versions every week or two.

    You could try using only DWS, as it also removes GWX which is responsible for Windows 10 upgrades, but DWS doesn't have an active monitoring for Windows 10 upgrade trix that sneak through.

    GWX Control panel has a monitoring mode that shows popup's from the system tray should a Windows 10 upgrade element try to re-enable Windows 10 upgrades.

    So I run both. :)

    Excuse me. I'm nearly seventy years old. I don't know how to interpret source code from any source. I'm not a troll from Microsoft. I don't know if Nummer is connected to the Russian government or not, or whether or not that is something to be concerned about. It is only because I am not sophisticated enough to know if someone is putting something malicious into the code (that my antivirus can't catch) that I even raised the question. By the way I am about to install GWX shortly.

    I don't like what Microsoft is doing either. Never have liked their way of doing business. I'm even trying Linux flavors--much improved since I first tried Linux in the 1990s when it was so clunky and people were updating the kernel every half hour--yeah I tried it but that doesn't mean I knew what I was doing. Don't be judging me. I'm just trying to survive until my time comes to die.

    BTW, my mommy just called me from the UK telling me her laptop is very slow and messed up. She had Windows 8.1 on her laptop

    So I logged into her laptop using TeamViewer and immediately saw the Windows 10 upgrade virus and the GWX icon in the taskbar.

    I then ran the batch file (located in the first post in this thread) and waited for a while, all the bad updates were unintalled.

    Next, I rebooted the laptop and checked for updates again, all of the updates I had uninstalled showed up again, so I hid them again, then checked for updates, 3 of them showed up again, so I hid them again, and again, and again, but they would never go, so I then disabled Windows Update altogether, I'd rather have a security hole due to some missing security update in the future than have this virus show up and demolish her laptop. she has NOD32 installed anyway.

    Next, I ran the GWX Control Panel to get rid of the Windows 10 upgrade virus from the taskbar. another reboot and her laptop is back to life the way it was!

    My point is, this thread has helped many, including myself. I never realized how convenient it is to have that batch file, believe me, without it, it would've taken me at least an hour to go through all her installed updates and manually uninstall each one of them.

    A big shoutout to @Ethrem the original mastermind behind this batch file, I simply do the updating of it but he was the man with the plan.

    Another huge thanks to @hmscott and @toughasnails for being among the top contributors in the thread. This is the best and most comprehensive list in the entire web with no false positives but only the real deal.

    I'm happy to hear you are interested in using the functionality of GWX and DWS. You would be pleased with both. :)

    GWX / DWS are easy enough to use and provide functionality for those that aren't computer savvy enough to code it themselves, or don't have time to keep up with the changes weekly in the MS Windows 10 Upgrade / privacy invasion saga.

    There are other tools available, but so far these 2 stand out in form and function.

    UNIX and Open Source have opened the world up to contributors wanting to help out others and participate in shared goals outside the FUD that countries push on to their citizens.

    This world-wide camaraderie, open sharing of source code and ideas, has been going on since before your involvement with Linux in the 90's, and keeps getting stronger every year.

    It's not unexpected for someone to worry about malware injection into code, but in my experience this happens at the Download nexus's and not at the owner / source sites.

    Always download binaries from the original developer maintained site.

    Developers focused on the functionality and integrity of their software aren't going to throw it all away to inject malware. There are some that have tried to monetize their work through adware, but neither GWX nor DWS are doing that.

    Download sites these days are going bad by injecting adware into otherwise clean software, so beware - use site/browser protection software to filter those out - Firefox/extensions, Norton, Spybot, Malwarebytes, work well for me, there are many solutions.

    Keep an eye out for changes after an install, and keep a good anti-spyware / anti-malware / anti-virus stable of tools on hand to go through your system after installs, and before install check out the installer for issues with your tools as well.

    No single tool is going to catch everything, so find 2 or 3 that won't interfere with each other to run manually - keeping only 1 running automatically.

    GWX and DWS have passed successfully through my checks, and the checks of others here on the board. That doesn't mean they are bug free, serious bugs have passed through many sets of eye's over the years in important source code.

    Once last word about using DWS / Matrix's script vs. running GWX only which only blocks Windows 10 upgrades.

    MS has injected malware into the system through the KB's that DWS and Matrix's script are uninstalling.

    Malware in the sense that it is code that is not needed for the functional operation of the OS. They are a parasitic load on the system that needs to be removed for best performance.

    Whether you are concerned or not with MS installing tools that can potentially grab all of your files, take direct input from your Microphone, Video camera, mouse, and keyboard - and watch all your local and network activity, it's all an extra load on your system that reduces your performance.

    DWS removes the KB's, turns off Windows 10 updates, stops the processes running in the background putting an extra unnecessary load on your system, and blocks the known data-gathering sites through the hosts file and Windows firewall.

    So what exactly is the problem with KB2670838? I have both it and IE 11 installed, and Aero works just fine. Given how hundreds of millions, if not billions of people have been happily using IE 10/11 for as long as 3 years now, I would expect my experience to be the norm.

    Is this one of those corner cases where a tiny handful of people have issues, but it works just fine for 99.99% of people? Or is the problem so obscure that the general public won't notice anything unless if they use one of a handful of problematic programs?
