it will be more pain when all (most) addon/extensions go the way of FF3 extension architecture. It will be smoothing out though eventually![]()

ghn; do you see any difference in the "christmas" builds? I haven't noticed any real improvements
-
page presentation (font, clarity,..) very pleasant to the eyes - try to put the latest build page side by side of IE7, Safari and Opera 9.5/9716 and see for urself
no adverse effects between builds are always real improvements
cheers ... -
Ok, thanks!
Can't get Flash to work on some sites! Here
I've copied the .dlls from system32 to Minefield plugin folder, but still don't work. The problem is Flash installer, it looks for FF2 folder, and cant find/detect Minefield.
Ghn if you have any working flash plugins could you please PM them to me? -
got no issue with ur link.
try this, in ur minefield/tool/addon/plugins:
. get plugins
. it will bring u to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:7
. try them out and see
cheers ... -
Jesus! It was Adblock Plus. I feel so stupid
But thanks!
EDIT: now I have problems with QT -
have u used the Nightly Tester Tool? use it and make all ur addon compatible
cheers ... -
Link please?
QT works in IE
-
http://www.oxymoronical.com/web/firefox/nightly
link?
cheers ... -
This trailer works in IE but not FF3.
I've copied all the QT plugins to minefield plugin folder
In Addons -> plugins, QT seems to be installed -
what can i say, i had no problem playing ur link with minefield, clear and awesome trailer
how about a clean uninstall and reinstall of Minefield, dont mix the official beta and the builds - back up ur bookmarks if u still want them first
cheers ... -
best is installing ff2.0.0.11 first with all ur addon & extension, then install minefield, then install the nighty tester tools
i would not even try to install extensions/themes direct under Minefield, regardless what the extensions claim at the moment. Only under FF2 and then use the tool to make them compatible
cheers ... -
Ok, gonna do a clean install and import the plugins again
-
the plugins are part of Minefield, there should be no need for import. If u have to import, then something is wrong
cheers ... -
Well, just did a clean install, and none of the plugins were there, had to import them
WMP and QT -
minefield, right?
currently having 17 under plugins
u stumped me on this
cheers ... -
update Minefield build 2008010104:
. going into new phase?
. from yahoo.com:
" Why miss out?
To see all the new Yahoo! home page has to offer, please upgrade to a more recent browser.
Supported browsers include:
Internet Explorer 7 optimized by Yahoo!
Firefox 2.0
Safari 2.0
Opera 9"
.
. other sites that i played with had no issue
cheers ... -
I'm having difficulties downloading today's build. Seems the update server is either really slow or full
EDIT: Just got it, but it can't install, so instead it's downloading the beta3pre again??? -
nope - today's build 2008010205 is a BUST!
not in the sense of bad build, but in the sense of updating mechanism, it will keep looping back to the previous build mentioning that the update was being incompleted.
u can either:
. ignore the message
. wait for the build update
cheers ... -
I'll just wait for tomorrow's build then
Thx
-
got no choice - they just pulled today's build of the server
cheers ... -
Found out that most of my problems are caused by AdBlockPlus. I love the extension, but sometimes it just blocks too much
Also, I remember a website where you could see changes from build to build. Do you know where I can find it? -
http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=615562
they r always a few days behind
this one is up to the hour
http://hourly-archive.localgho.st/
personally i never used AdBlock, just set to suppress pop.up in tools and i m happy. Can u link me to a site that is heavy in adds so i can check out?
cheers ... -
Thanks for your help
-
Why don't you try noscript then? It may take a little time to configure but it saved me from being rick rolled quite a few times.
-
build 2008010211 is available, but will not be updated via the minefield help/update option
one must download the trunk and manually install it. Just choose the same folder as the current Minefield, it will override the to-be-updated files and leave the customisation intact
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/
it is smoking fast!
cheers ... -
I use both in FF3...
-
Thanks, I just installed it
EDIT: Is it just me, or is this build extremely fast??? -
Is extremely fast faster than smoking fast?
-
Lawl, it probably caught on fire.

Anyone else have really high CPU usage on this site with FF3?
http://www.tweakforce.com -
. when u spoke of FF3, which one was that? Official Beta or Minefield?
. cannot confirm on FF3 beta 2 since i m not using it
. Minefield build 2008010211: cpu went from under 10% to max, fluctuating between 60-80 ????
. FF 2.0.0.11: fluctuating between 13-25, normal
. Opera 9.5 snapshot 9716: fluctuating between 8-20, normal
. Safari 3.0.4: fluctuating between 8-17, normal
i m adding this site to my testing scenarios.
cheers ... -
expanded observations (from previous post #232)
. idleProcess sucked up the majority of the cpu spike (up to 80) under O9.6/9716, Safari 3.0.4 and FF2.0.0.11
. under Minefield, IdleProcess hovered at around 20 while Minefield took a beating
. Minefield performed correctly with other sites - meaning IdleProcess took over the brunch (?????)
cheers ... -
Minefield
This wasn't a problem in earlier builds. Hope they fix it! -
Build 2008010304:
- Really high cpu usage on http://www.tweakforce.com still present!
- Everything else seems smooth
- Still some rendering issues though on some site. Have reported these
- Still fast, don't know what they did, but it's faster now! -
weird reaction, if u scroll down to the bottom of the page of the site, then the cpu spike goes down (not down enough comparing to other sites) noticeably. Highest CPU usage is about 1/3 of the page. Going to other links from within the site is fine, as long as it is OUT of the main page. If the link stays within the page frame, cpu usage is still high
cheers ... -
Yeah it's really weird
Take a look here, the site is extremely wide! -
i experienced this "wide" thing in a few earlier builds. Looking like the page formatting is broken or being reworked to compensate with speed (? - my wild guess)
at least no cpu spike in this site
cheers ... -
appending:
. video streaming clear but stuttering :-((
.
cheers ... -
update Minefield buid 2008010405:
. no change from yesterday's discussions with n0elia
update Opera 9.5 snapshot 9721:
. still broken for what i tested (in previous posts)
. @n0elia: the tweakforce site took a long time to load (slower than previous snapshot) but still handling correctly. The mobileforum.dk could not be displayed under this snapshot
cheers ... -
Fixes in Opera 9.5 build 9721:
Download here
Nice fixes, but still some GIF animation problems according to forum posts @ Opera, gonna try and see!
Haven't installed new opera yet. But how is the cpu usage on Opera when opening www.tweakforce.com ? Still high?
EDIT: Tweakforce is still using too much cpu on newest Minefield build, and it's not only the main page, download page as well
-
none at all, it handled cpu correctly as in my above post
i did not notice high cpu in the download page. Just make sure that the main page was closed
cheers ... -
I'm having high cpu usage on Tweakforce with Opera build 9721 ?
-
i did today as well ?????
cheers ... -
Minefield build 2008010508:
- Tweakforce still cpu hungry
- Update is broken again. Downloaded manually -
whoaaaaaaa
update Minefield 2008010508:
. behaving "badly" and "exact" like O9.5/9721!!!!!!! on the 2 urls that n0elia stated in previous post
. r they working together now? nah, video streaming works in Minefield and not in O9.5/9721
. scaring me for a minute there
@n0elia: update worked for me
cheers ... -
How come I have the update problem almost every time?
-
i do have it from time to time, best thing is to have a good FF2 installed along with Minefield, somehow, it is not ready to be alone yet. Also try not to mix FF3 official beta and updating from it
cheers ... -
The download menu now pops up right after you click "ok" instead of minimizing. I know it's not huge, but kindda irritating they've changed that
-
u r using a download extension? may be just need to reinstall it. I only use what it offers in the options menu so i would not notice the change u had.
cheers ...
