Update issues again, had to download hourly trunk. build 2008010606:
- Both tweakforce and mobilforum are still broken
- Have noticed anything else, been using it for 3-4 minutes![]()

Build 2008010705:
Update issue AGAIN! I have to download hourly trunk every time! -
dont know what to tell ya
one personal note - tweakforce no longer recognises Minefield since yesterday's build, it flashed with reminder that it is better to run with firefox (?). It is getting to a critical phase at the moment, unless Minefield comes up with something or sites must update their browsers database.
So expect to have loads of rejects
cheers ... -
Tweakforce works fine here, rendering etc. But cpu usage issue is still present
-
Another broken site:
http://simcity.ea.com/deluxe/sc4announce.php
Only background shows up. Blank site -
Build 2008010805
And once again it's downloading 8.3mb instead of just downloading the updates, which usually is around 500-600kb
And I just did a clean install yerterday to see if that would solve the problem but no -
regarding cpu spike (example of the tweakforce site):
. it has been reported as bug (and being actively looked at)
. it has something to do with Flash
. it is also present in ff2.0.0.11 at certain sites
cheers ... -
Good to hear, hope they fix it
BTW, nightly tester tool is now 3b4, does this mean Minefield beta-4 (unofficial release of course) will be released soon? -
Build 2008010813
- I now have a "save and quit" and "quit" option. I like the option to save or delete sessionI didn't have this before, so I think it's new. Qhn?
-
cheers ... -
Just got the new build, and YAY the partial update works again
-
just curious about when u could not get the "automatic" update:
. did u get any messages containing this "AUS: Update XML File Malformed (200)"??
. if yes, then it was not the issue of ur end, but it was due to the build server being busy - a retry would do it, no need to download the whole build
cheers ... -
I didn't get the ""AUS: Update XML File Malformed (200)". It was just downloading 8.4mb every time, instead of only updated files!
Well, let see if it happens today, if not, I think problem may be gone forever, I hope -
Build 2008011005:
- Update is working fine, guess the problem is solved then!
- Tweakforce still broken
Qhn; Any idea on when beta-4 will be released? Or is it time for RC, or too soon? -
. this cpu spiking is making loads of people (me) nervous.
cheers ... -
New Opera 9.5 build 9735:
-
update O9.5snapshot9735:
. worst than last snapshot, under vista is still worthless
. streaming video still broken in cnn and slow at loading page of this as well, last snapshot was better
. changed the way in link saving as dialog,
. ??????? 1 step forward, 10 steps back snapshot
personal take - devs probably had such a good time over new year's party, still very much hangover i guessed.
cheers ... -
@n0elia:
. have u noticed the pattern of change logs in last many O snapshots?
. loads of recoding and re-arranging of menus and structure
. many reported bugs or not-working as before were being IGNORED! like, "hey leave me alone after i code all the extras first, then i will go back to fix the bugs" attitude
. i ache for real O users (not the blinded fanboys and devs)
update Minefield build 2008011105:
. my yahoo is BACK! yeah!
. now the devs just need to sort out the cpu spike
cheers ... -
cheers ... -
www.mobilforum.dk is now working
Things are going in the right direction yay!
-
update O9.5 snapshot 9745:
. it is getting worse, couldn't even start in vista
. i personally will stop updating on O9.5 until something better coming up to report. This does not mean that I stop testing it. I will keep up with the testing (faithfully) every friday when and if a new snapshot is being made available. I've done this with Minefield before, so there is no preference here
update Minefield ....(last at 200811704):
. so far no build today, well the devs deserved a day rest if they so chosed. It is getting very good, except for the cpu spike reported under tweakforce
cheers ... -
expanded update on O9.5 snapshots:
. my personal preference was not to dwell too much on the change log, unless something stable coming out of it
. nor did i bother much with the bugs and issues - since this was ongoing, by definition.
. my goal was to report something that other users can start to play (if they so choose) with and not blindly saying yeah, a new version was being made available. Others might have different approaches, I respected them and would leave them as they were.
. did not want to turn off many REAL opera fans.
. i hope that this answered p.m's
i did the same thing with any other beta browsers!
cheers ... -
Does IMDB work for you in O 9.5? I'm using 9656, and it crashed when I visit the site.
-
cheers ... -
I haven't tried the new Opera build... I was really disappointed with the last build. There were too many bugs, so I just uninstalled it.
Hope they speed up on development @ Opera. -
Minefield build 2008011904
- Update issues again. Instead of downloading updates (~800kb) it now downloads 8.4mb
- Changelog mentions something about faster jpeg browsing? Anywhere to bench jpeg browsing? I know there is one for Java -
Things aren't looking so good for Opera. Firefox may win these browser wars yet.
-
cheers ... -

update O9.5-snapshot-9755:
. cnn video streaming works but slow loading with cpu spike
. no good change under vista
. a good new to the "conformity"
"We are currently experimenting with cloaking document.all so we get sent more "alternative" code.
Too many sites check for support of document.all and assume that the browser is Internet Explorer. As a result, they often give Opera code that is designed only to work with Internet Explorer's bugs, which Opera does not have. If they fail to detect it, they use standards compliant code instead, which would work with Opera.
Occasionally, sites use document.all correctly without testing if it exists, and without providing a standards-based approach, which is why we added document.all support in the first place. Cloaking will cause the first case to use the standards approach, while allowing the second to continue to function.
This is something that might affect a lot of sites (positively and/or negatively) so we are relying on getting feedback if you see sites that either break or get fixed because of this."
looking like Opera users will be able to view more sites (less rejects due to UNconformity)
update Minefield build 200812504:
. it just gets better

New Flock 1.0.8:
Download here

Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
Whats new in the latest Minefield build:
-
If they want to change the GUI they have to change the back button too. Then again, there will be custom themes per OS so it's not even really that big.
-
update Minefield build 200812904:
. addon section now has Get Add-ons/Extensions/Themes/plugins
. more about add-ons ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox )
. browser history bar is broken, cannot clear them out, short of a complete re.install
. themes are confused, mix and match (Jayayess1190 post above - confirmed)
. other than that (from my point of testing view), it still flies
cheers ... -
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
Also, when downloading something, the pause and stop buttons have changed color from red to blue.
-
- no big issue, still working
cheers ... -
-
cheers ... -
.... added is the rendering, the fonts and clarity are much easier and plaisant to the eyes with the recent builds
cheers ... -

??? New nightly build has a new home button and weird looking back button:
-
not really, they r adding something, i could not make them out myself - yet
cheers ... -
That looks like it could just be the OS theme thing that they are working on implementing.
-
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
Just noticed that you can't drag bookmarks into the bookmark toolbar anymore, don't like that.
-
yep, build 2008013104 surely wacked the bookmarks, addons and browser history out pretty bad. I lost my "Home" button in the toolbar. i'd give it another week to settle down in this area.
the "recommended" addon is slick though, just learn about the coloured tabs
the installation of extension and themes is getting tighter with warning and security check
and it gets faster and smoother each day
cheers ... -
Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
. BTW this site is unverified!
-
If you guys took note Mozilla said this was just a small stepping stone. So what do you think FF4 will turn out to be?
-
it is one of my many test sites for minefield, O9.5 & Safari - and so far only O9.5 kept choking every often
cheers ...
