version has now been changed to:
7600.16399.x86fre.win7_gdr.090722-1835 for x86 and
7600.16399.x64fre.win7_gdr.090722-1835 for x64.
if you have the previous version these changes are available via updates from ms that will patch the original one to the newest builds. they can be found around online but you can also wait till ms send them via update which probably will happen after they officially go to technet...

Hmm what was the reason for this?
-
we are unsure of exactly why yet. most think it was because of the oem key leak but i doubt that. im working on trying to get more info

I think they want people to think who got their hands on RTM that its not the exact rtm but this is which in fact is not true. Its my opinion.
-
so now what? after I download Win 7 for the 17th time........it only lasts 2 days.......and a new build is up......MS PLEASE stop this
i'm sick of downloadiing / formatting
this 16385 biuld is rock solid I have no complains..... (fully activated legally) -
16385 is the final rtm, the updates make it the new build no need to reinstall..
here for x64:
http://rapidshare.com/files/262655081/x64.rar
here for x86:
http://rapidshare.com/files/262655369/x86.rar
both were uploaded by me so i promise they are virus free -
From what I have read, the updates provide only minor executable updates. The link Morizche posted seems to have some rather accurate speculations just in case you want the specifics as to what is being done.
-
system runs much faster for sure after these updates i can say that. also boot time is reduced etc..
also how are you legit activated there when keys have not been released even yet.. except the one lenovo which was leaked and everyone and their broher is using now lol.. it will be funny when it gets killed -
i'm sick of downloading / formatting" Changes are something you have to live with, if you decide to install an operating system that hasn't been officially released by Microsoft yet (not to mention you are getting these installs from torrents)!
Fully activated legally? I haven't seen any computers available that come with Windows 7, and keys aren't available from Technet yet, so I'm curious how you have a legal copy of 7... -
-
I cannot share with you the method due to technical restrictions from MS.
You will be able to do the same in the near future
meanwhile, i''m giving u a hand on experience of teh real Win 7 FTW -

. Did I heard Alienware?? or Dell
-
Or maybe I just know someone there who happens to give me a genuine key before teh rest of teh pack
-
Simply too doggy MaXimus. But as long as it is "legit", cool for you!
cheers ... -
MaXimus -- show_off_mode off
That should do.
Back to the topic. Lol at people who download every single build just because of the build number, one more for the collection
Been looking at pricing, quite shocked to see 7 Pro Upgrade for $199, considering to stay with Vista. -
-
Next time, just tell the truth - someone gave me a key. Don't try to make it sound like you were part of some Microsoft program that gave you early access to RTM. -
Unless you need the features of the Professional version, you could always get the family pack of Home Premium for $149.99.
-
-
extract whichever one you picked and you will have 8 different updates. run each one at a time. and no need to restart until they are all done.
-
I downloaded the RTM from Technet Plus the other day, have not had time to do a clean install yet. I will let you know what I find.
MS states that they are going to be adding patches, updates up until and past the GR. They are finding little bits all the time to change. If one were to expect there would be no changes from RC to RTM your crazy. Look how long RC has been out? There are more than a fair share of changes they have added, in my opinion! -
i was not at all refferring to the rc release...
the actual RTM on technet right now gets a changed build number after updating it -
thanks for the links, zfactor
-
Sorry about that Zfactor! I downloaded mine on Thursday night. When did they change it? I wonder if I need to do another one
-
no need to do a new one. use the one you have and use the links i posted. install those updates and you will have the new build i also have another new update ill post today so there are 9 total see my links at the beginning of this thread
edit see this post:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=5155894&postcount=7
ill add the last one when i get back in to this thread as well -
I got a question. Am I gonna have problems with windows update later if I install these updates by myself? I desktop freezes sometimes. I hope updates may fix it.
-
cant say for sure but you shouldnt as far as i am told. these came from the same person that leaked the REAL legit rtm version..
-
Honestly, why does anyone even care about the build number? If you download RTM from Technet/MSDN, and you install the updates from Microsoft via Windows Update, you will be just fine.
-
Yea, so whats your point? trying to add logic to our thread? How dare you
-
I'm assuming these are those same patches? http://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/08/07/patch-tuesday-five-critical-for-august-2009

How many in total should there be zfactor?
-
8 in the download i posted and another ill post today
-
so what are they gona change the technet images or just push an update?
-
Windows Update will distribute them on Tuesday, according to that article I posted. I doubt they're going to modify an image.
-
-
Well, as Windows 7 is not technically generally available, I don't think Microsoft would necessarily list it. However, as Vista and Server 2008 are affected, that's an indication that 7 would be, as well.
-
Do you have the 9th update uploaded yet, zfactor?
Here are the links to the detail pages of each of the 3/8 updates installed:

-

-
my rapidshare is down right now ill up it today
-
Well I've installed all 8 updates you posted zfactor....once there installed I can delete the actual installation files you uploaded for everyone correct?
And I'll be keeping an eye out for the 9th one. Thanks by the way for all your help and information. -
i got my account fixed i can do it when i get back to the office
-
Just a friendly reminder. -
How could one tell if you need to install these updates or not?
-
Compare the update code, or whatever you want to call it (KBxxxxxx) with those most recent updates displayed when you are in "View update history."
Control Panel>System and Security>Windows Updates>View update history -
-
Well, yea, haha, I suppose that would've been the simpler approach. Still early for me. xD Why not platinum?
lol rtm version code has been changed
