Though your usage of windows obtained through technet is limited, read the license terms.

I believe he gets it on MSDN.
I have a regular OEM one. Me and you will be able to download the updates, around the official release date, probably.

Is there any way to get an RTM product key for free? I have the RTM installed on my laptop but didn't realize the RTM product keys are different than the RC.

Don't be a smartass. You think every single person that downloads the RTM is an MSDN/Technet subscriber?

honestly i wasn't trying to be a smartass. Were you really surprised that RTM (final) and RC (beta) have different keys? Obviously.

If you want a legit key for RTM, or as you call it, "free" then you're going to have to pay for it. Simple as that.

No, but they are supposed to be at this point.

Why not ask where you got the RTM from for a key?

yes it is these updates will not come through till win7 actually starts hitting wu. your version will update after that by itself. some people got these "early" i got them from zukona who is the first who originally leaked the actual real rtm

You shouldn't be stressed. Updates are not critical, unless you are experiencing a problem. It's just 4 more weaks untill the official release and the automatic updates.
BTW, you don't have to make a new post, just edit old one.
