    windows 7 preorder start time?

    You can use the upgrade pack for upgrading from XP to Windows 7. Only difference between Vista-->W7 from XP-->W7 is that with the XP-->W7 route you have to do a clean install.

    I am still unclear on how the upgrade process to 7 works. Will we be able to use the upgrade disc to do a fresh install of 7 or do we need to do a fresh install of Vista first and then upgrade to 7?

    I don't think that the upgrade installer is going to work if you don't have the old OS. If it allows for a clean install of windows 7 then why there is need for complete version?
