    Hello,

I have a Logitech MX900 Bluetooth mouse that I want to use with my M4600.

The problem is: The connetion is lost very often. In the beginning it happend two or three times a day. Now its about every 20 minutes.
In the beginning it helped to pull the batteries out of the mouse and put them in again. Now I have to delete the device in windows and install it again.
On my old notebook I never had problems like this...

Any ideas? Someone with similar problems?

    Kind regards,
    Christian

I have same problem. My bluetooth mouse lost connection from m4600 like every hour, temporary solution is to switch off the mouse and on again.

    This never happened in M4400.

I can't replicate this as i wish, it just happened randomly, not because of sleep/wake up, it can happen during normal use.

My mouse also loses the connection during normal use.

Before the M4600 I had a Lenovo R61. Might be it happend 2 or 3 times in 3 years. But only after wake up I think.

That sounds bad. Can you recommend M4600? Or more a Lenovo W520?

Well, I think its an issue with the driver.
Upgrade: I didnt use the mouse for a few days with the notebook. Now I'm using it again and the disconnect only occurs once a day.
I'm in contact with dell because of this. So far they told me to reinstall the driver. I will tell you if there is something new.

Worse than the bluetooth problem is the chirping noise I in my opinion. It really annoys me, but I think that many people won't hear it, because the frequency is too high.

I can't tell you if I would recommend one of the notebooks. I made bad experience with Lenovo (the support is great, but there are some issues with my old notebook). So I wanted to try another manufacturer. Before I bought it, I only heard good things about it.
I would recommend you to have a look at the notebooks before you buy one.
So far I am not 100% satisfied with the m4600, especially if I think about its price!

Generally I have the impression that there is very much sloppiness in the development of electronic devices nowadays. If you depend on electronic devices, the best thing you can do is to make the fewest bad trade-off. But I cannot tell you what this is in case of this two notebooks...

This bluetooth problem can only be discovered after some times use. There isn't much people using Mx600, and out of this small community there is even less people using bluetooth mouse. Even if this laptop is displayed in the booth for user trial, this problem won't be noticed.

The bluetooth issue annoyed me too, and my bluetooth mouse has powerpoint presentation function with laser beam, if the connection is lost the mouse will be deactivated as well as the laser beam. Imagine if this happens in a business presentation @#*^$%xx...

Price is crazy, yes. What annoyed me the the price is not standardized around the world. in US, 2920XM cost only about $ 1000 but at my place is $1700. However, Samsung 256Gb SSD SATA2 cost $600+ in US but only $200+ here. What further annoyed me is when i brought up this issue with local Dell, their reply is "the system shows that way".

Put aside the price and bluetooh issue, overall i am satisfied with M4600 so far. I regret buying still because I do not know beforehand it supports only MXM3-A, else i would have chosen M6600 or Clevo P150HM.

I hope you did not get me wrong. I don't want to blame anybody in this forum because nobody reported this bug. I agree with you, that there might be very few people who have even the chance to notice it.

As I said, dell gave me the advice to reinstall the drivers. It did not help. In the beginning the mouse worked again for longer time (= a half day), but after a few days even reconnect of the mouse does not help.
I will report if there are news from the support.

It could be simply a compatibility issue with the mouse. I've found that Bluetooth keyboard and mice sometimes flakes more when you don't use the Bluetooth dongle that came with it (unless it's a model that doesn't have a dongle, which makes things difficult).

I don't really use Bluetooth or any wireless mice for that exact sort of reason. I have a G5 and it works just fine every time since it's wired.

I think the Dell support sent me the solution to this problem:

They adviced me to disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" of the bluetooth module in the system control.

So far, its running for two days without disconnect. Two days are to less to say that it was the solution, but it looks quite good.

That makes sense. I haven't had any bluetooth problems with my wireless wacom. Also using Logitech's wireless mouse (not bluetooth) with no problems.
