I have a Dell C400 laptop. Sometimes when I switch it on I get a beep and a message on a black screen saying "Primary hard disk failure". Then if I pull out the power cord and remove the battery (I can't find a reset button) and then try again it starts and works fine. Sometimes I have to repeat this a few times before it works. Does this mean my hard disk is banjaxed or could it be a software problem.
