Yes any 2.5" 9.5mm SSD should work in the E6400.

    1) Do i have to get anything special to put it in there?

    2) Is the connection as fast as the stock HDD (left side bottom corner) connection?

Any ideas? Would a Crucial M4 SSD fit in there?

    Thanks!

Please don't create multiple threads about the same topic.

Yes the Crucial M4 will work.

Why would a different drive have anything to do with the internal connection? It's based off the chipset, and it supports ICH9M which has full SATA 2 speeds, 3.0 GB/sec theoretical speeds.

No you just unscrew your current drive from the HDD caddy and replace it with whatever you want and slide it back it. You'll need to reinstall the operating system..
