    I have a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop running Windows 7 64 bit.

I want to hook it up to my Sony LCD TV.

What do I need to achieve this? I want to be able to view and if possible listen to streaming from my laptop on my TV. What cables are required for such or do I have a wireless option?

What sort of inputs do you have on your TV?

If you're lucky you have a VGA input on your TV and just do VGA to VGA... if you're not so lucky you might have to do some funny stuff to get to component, etc.

I tried VGA on my 32" Sony and it won't drive 1080p. Does something like 1360x768 (not 1366) maximum.

Might have to buy a dual-mode Displayport -> HDMI adapter. They're like $8.

This is the spec on my tv:

    KDL-32V4500 (KDL32V4500, KDL32V4500U) : Technical Specifications : TV & home cinema : Sony

I am looking for the best quality as possible - is that hdmi? And does the E6410 have an hdmi output - looking at the laptop I'm not sure.

You know, I have the almost identical TV (KDL32V4000). As I said I can't get full HD via VGA; I'm limited to around 1360x768. Eventually I might try dual mode DP -> HDMI as I said. The TV has 2 HDMI ports.

E6410's Displayport is capable of carrying over HDMI signals with a passive adapter.

Thanks for your feedback on this. So it looks like I need to get what you have with a dual mode DP -> HDMI.

Could you point me in the correct direction as to the cables I need to purchase for this?
