    Hi,

I'm using my Latitude E6400 in a docking station with 2 monitors and now that the weather is nicer outside, it seems to be overheating a bit as the cooler is running most of the time now.

I'm looking for a cooling pad, but can't seem to find one that was designed to work with a docking station.

Anyone been in that situation? Did you find a good solution to that?

    Thanks.

What are the temperatures like? If the fan is just running more than before, I wouldn't worry about it, it's designed to be able to take care of itself.

Get out the air compressor and blow any dust out of it. A well designed laptop like the E6400 does not require a 'cooling pad' at all.

I didn't check the temperatures, I'm sure it's not too high, but I'm just worried that now is just the beginning of June and July, August will definitely be hotter.

Indeed, the E6400 is a great laptop and works very well, but it's still a laptop. I'm using it as a desktop, since it has 2 monitors connected and it's on for about 12 hours a day, every day. I'm sure a cooling pad will be a nice treat for 'im :)

Anyway, I'll blow the dust away and hope it will be fine. If anyone is aware of a cooling pad that could fit with the docking station, let me know.

    Thanks.

At my work I use sort of a ghetto setup if you will. It is a Allsop monitor stand turned sideways to hold my machine. It hangs off the sides but it works well enough for any of my concerns. The laptop does not move an inch on it so I have no concerns of it coming off, I can try and snag a pic if you like.

That sounds like a great setup you got there, but I'm not sure how affective is for cooling. Are you also using a cooling pad or anything like that with it? If so, yea, a picture would be nice, please do :)

Well it is an aluminum stand so helps to disperse some of the heat, then it has speed holes in it to so it looks like its haulin when it is sitting still ha. I will try to get a picture for you in a bit

Again I do not do much with my work machine besides work so it usually does not get to bad.
