    My Latitude D620 with the Nvidia 110m video card is experiencing intermittent out of focus text and wavy lines. This laptop is 1 year out of warranty. Did they extend the warranty for the known video card issues with this particular card ?

    Thanks Dennis

    I think Dell offered the 1 year warranty extension for in warranty units only. Call up Dell or get on Chat?

    Well if you don't get artifacts externally, you might have a defective LCD? Try another LVDS cable, could also be a defective motherboard connector?

    I had a problem like this with my old D620. Most probably your LCD is dieing. I wouldn't rule out the GPU just yet though.

    Try;

    - Reseatting the RAM (1 other stick underneath the keyboard)

    - Known good DDR2 RAM

    - Removing battery and AC adapter and holding down the power button for 30 seconds.

    Thanks Tsunade_Hime interesting I'll try that with the ram. 1 year ago I installed a new lcd and ribbon sent to me from Dell as the screen at that time was getting dim and was still under warranty so I dont ehink its that even though the Display is fine on a external. Think that ram might be generating excessive noise?

    Attached a lcd from a old Insiprion that the video connection matched and it exhibited the same video problem. Must be the Nvidia 110m failing. Any good reliable place for motherboard for this unit. Ebay seems a little sketchy.
