Dell Outlet Laptop Battery Life?

The Dell outlet has some good computers i heard such as the dell e6410, e6400, e6500, e6510 etc with i5 processors. Can someone tell me what is so special about these laptops and why many people recommend these laptops to people who want a laptop?

Also, my question is does anyone know how much is the battery life usually with these refurbished laptops? Would getting one of these be a good idea and then buying a new battery for it?

 

refurbished laptops are a great way to save money and u get the same warranty as a new laptop and Dell has amazing after sale service in my opinion. the refurbished batteries do have a lil wear according to my program about 5%, should still be great for a year or two. CPUID hwmonitor will tell you how much wear it has. my other refurbished laptop is about 12 months old with 8% wear. but I think they deteriorate faster the older they get.

The Latitude laptops are built for mainstream business use... robust, functional, reliable, serviceable, and supported. And no unwanted consumerware or hardware trifles like glossy screens. Also include docking options for road warrior/desktop conversion. With mainstream audio and video, not to be considered high-end multimedia workstations..and therefore more energy and weight efficient... portable. Not exactly but its roughly 4, 6, 8 hours, and about a year. A 9-cell might get you 8 hours of use if you manage your power consumption closely. Expect 4 hours with a 6-cell with no particular power management. The more devices working, the shorter the battery charge duration. Then expect less as the battery ages. And expect to replace the battery after a year or so... depends on how much the battery charge has been cycled, and a bit of luck. Replacement batteries can be found cheaper on ebay.

Actually, this has changed. On the new Latitude systems (i3/i5/i7 models) I remember reading about 3 year anticipated battery life.

 

The battery will have a standard 1 year warranty for consumable items. If it doesn't meet your expectations, call tech support and get it replaced.

The 3 year battery warranty is an additional service you have to pay for.

 

Seeing is believing. Some users have had great luck with battery lifetime in the past. Given the one year warranty, and that battery technology has not made any great leaps recently (that I know of), I would expect a year of solid performance and be thankful for any service thereafter.

I picked up a like new E6400 a few weeks ago b/c of all the good reviews surrounding the reliability, serviceability etc. It's a straightforward laptop, and gets work done. Touchpad isn't my favorite but otherwise I love it.

Try to get the 3 year battery warranty. After exactly 13 months (didn't know the 1 year warranty existed) my Studio 14Z 8-cell was at 55% wear, although I did use it everyday for school.

 

Last I checked, it was cheaper to just buy a new battery on ebay.
