Dell Outlet Laptop Battery Life?

    I agree that 27% wear is too high for a near-new battery. However, this may be a calibration problem (with the battery electronics not having an accurate value of empty) and I suggest that you do a full discharge + recharge.

    Look in the BIOS to see if there is a battery calibration option (I don't recall seeing it). Use it if present. If not, run the computer on battery until windows shuts down. Then start the computer and go into the BIOS and leave the computer running until it stops (if there is a calibration problem then this may take an hour or more). Then fully recharge the battery. You may well find that the wear level has reduced.
