Can't help you on the random disconnect issue, but fyi if an iOS restore or update is interrupted, the phone will still boot into Recovery Mode, which is separate from the core iOS in the same way that Windows Recovery Environment is available even when Windows won't boot. At that point your only option is to do a restore (which can of course be irritating if you were just trying to install an update), but I don't think there's a risk that your phone will be bricked to the point that you can't do anything at all with it -- other than I guess a scenario where your connection is so unstable that your phone remains available in Recovery Mode but you can't ever actually complete a full iOS installation.

I seem to recall some people with iPhone-specific problems early in this thread, so it might be worth searching the thread. I don't remember if they found a fix or not, sorry.

My 2 cents. Love the screen, good cpu and gpu performance, disappointed of the limited ram capabilities (so far more than enough though), hate 7260, hate the entire palm rest area materials with the stupid keyboard and especially touch pad. Regret the day I bought it. Probably will return it and upgrade to bigger precision or research the new MSI's. The win 8 is a pain to deal with, there's no proper drivers for the 7260 for win7. Less than a month old repaired three times...and now I scored these speeds at home conditions (see the pic attached)...my phone is better than that. What's the point of this hardware if there's no proper drivers for it ? Every time I go out of wi-fi range I need to re-connect manually after...got the newest drivers for it and I don't feel that I need to turn into a computer geek just to make my machine work adequately. I've repaired and replaced so many times hardware, bios etc. on my old 1545 and don't want to keep on following forums about the Dell's s*it. I need a workstation and while I can live with the small cons if I don't find a replacement to that 7260 in the near feature my laptop will go to the bin ...
Sorry if you feel I'm over reacting, but I spent lots of money on a professional equipments and everything new nowadays seems to be defected and returned straight after bought...
Don't want to live on this planet anymore... as somebody used to say

No idea what your issue with the 7260 is. I have the M3800 with Windows 7 (of course), and my wireless works just fine on all of my networks. Connects and reconnects just fine. Speed is fine, too.

Providing more details about your WiFi setup would help with troubleshooting, but what router are you using and how current is the firmware on it? Some people have reported poor performance with the 7260 with old routers or even newer routers with old firmware, even while other devices work fine. The 7260 also had a rough start with its own drivers, but those issues seem to have gone away starting around version 16 or so, which was a while back. Otherwise, if you've been messing around inside your laptop, are you sure both antennas are securely connected? I can consistently get 180 Mbps down on that same test from two separate systems with 7260s (I have a 200/20 Internet connection) and I'm using an Asus RT-N66U, which as the name suggests doesn't even support 802.11ac, so what you're seeing is definitely not the norm.

The laptop is about a month old and personally I never opened it for warranty reasons. It was repaired several times by a technician and replaced the touchpad and the entire monitor lid,so if the antennas are not ok he should have noticed it. The broadband connection has been installed in a month ago by Sky technicians and is 802.11n but not sure 2.5Ghz ot 5Ghz (whichever it is can't be that slow as my test shows) and a PC next to the router with external wireless adapter scored 100 Mbps down .I tried different drivers and no matter what never went over 15 Mbps and the average is 10 Mbps. More important to me is the upload which never goes more than 1.06 Mbps. Tomorrow will make official test on another one network and if it's slower than it should be will call Dell again but this time will want a trade to an m6800

I have had a lot of intermittent problems with the USB ports disconnecting with all kinds of devices including portable hard drives. A few things have helped a little, 1 is switching off bluetooth at device manager, 2 is under advanced power settings disable usb selective suspend, 3 is a few weeks ago i setup the laptop again with a new 1TB Samsung EVO drive - since then i have done neither points 1 or 2, i obviously got all the newest drivers and the usb has only disconnected once that i can remember - good luck

If you stopped using obsolete things like Windows 7 and 802.11n you would achieve speed around 32-33 MB/s (tested in both Win 8.1 and Win 10 against a Netgear R7000 8 meters and a wall inbetween)

I have an issue on my M3800, the F11 and F12 keys no longer adjust the brightness. It looks like it's stuck on max. When I pres F11 to reduce the brightness, it shows the hotkey popup and shows the lowest brightness setting on screen, but the brightness of the screen is still stuck on high. When I press F12 it shows the highest brightness setting in the popup, and brightness is obviously unchanged again.

Anyone seen this issue? I have adaptive brightness turned off...

Update: I restarted my machine and it's working fine again; very odd though. Would be interested to know if anyone's come across the issue themselves before so I can try to identify the root cause. Thank all.
