Hello all - Yet another quirk that requires fixing.
Every so often (1-2mins) there is a beep that comes from the system.
It even comes through the audio jack when I have my headphones plugged in.

In short IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY

Does anyone know what this is?
How do I disable the beep from occurring?

    Update edit.

The beep now only occurs once headphones have been plugged in.
    Any ideas?

reinstall the audio drivers. I have seen cases when audio or wifi drivers were "unloading" themselves - a form of getting corrupted. See what that does.

One caution when you get Dell technician (normally outsourced by Dell) to be very careful when opening an expensive machine.

I had experienced twice where the engieers made a mistake,
    1. Causing my CPU not to function as when they replaced the CPU, Dell didn't provide a new CPU heat-sink which comes with pre-applied heat paste. The engineer basically improvised and scraped what's left from the old CPU and heat sink to apply back to the new CPU.

    2. Had my 17" m6500 Covet edition screen bent as it was not installed properly. Ended up Dell had to replace a new LCD for me after I noticed it in a month (too late damage done).

With the above, I have ended up with refurbished parts for a product which I have paid for as brandnew !

Avoid your parts being replaced unless its absolutely necessary and keep an watchful eye on the onsite technician.
