I'd go for it, the specs are good and, although I'm still not convinced it's as tanklike as a D630, it's more modern specs so it'll last longer. :D

    JVCB -
Any way you choose - to do it by yourself or with an IT techie, by copying the image or from scratch...
    - don't forget to make a copy of your important documents. A backup with backup tools is one, but also do it by hand - by copying "MyDocuments" w/all subfolders to a big enough USB flashdrive (or external HDD).

If the backup-tool fails to recover your files (because of some glitch, like partitions whcih are uncompatible or anything), you'll have the "handmade backup" to be used without any special tool.

Generally - windows like reimaging from scratch. You get rid of some unnecessary drivers and other software that accumulated without your will during these 4 months.

Thanks once again for your good advice. I actually learned this lesson once before and have made both backups AND copies of my documents onto TWO external HDD. Belt, suspenders, and paranoia!

GKDesigns: Thank you for your assistance. Will these re-image notes also work for Win 7 32bit? I don't use the 64 bit version currently.
    Thanks,

Yes. The only difference is that you must download Dell.com device drivers for your system AND OS version. Plod through it methodically, making notes as you go to stay grounded in the plan. Try keeping the original HDD intact until you have commmissioned the new drive... there is comfort in being able to re-install it for any reason.

I just tweaked my re-image notes a bit for more clarity.

I'm making good money and that machine has CTS Rapid Response Warranty of 720 days. Sick specs, Samsung 128GB SSD, WXGA+. I am IT Specialist at a large mill site and I just don't even want to think about anymore computer issues when I am at home ;)

It's possible - the card should fit - but won't you need an antenna for the TV card. An WWAN antenna cable may be present but is designed for a different frequency.

Have been searching US outlet for Latitude E6410 but I am not finding any 14.1 WXGA+ LED screens. Maybe I am missing something because of poor eyesight but I need to get at least two laptops with this screen and Intel graphics. Have to buy soon, but if they don't show up in outlet I might have to try eBay. Thanks for you input.
