I find it odd that the e6510 spec page makes note of the quad-core requirement for 1333MHz RAM, but the e6410 page just says "Memory Bandwidth: 1066MHz or 1333MHz." I guess I'll be ordering that OCZ stick and running it at whatever it defaults to.

I've had my E6410 since May 2010, and I am very, very happy with my purchase. The trackpad has some weird behavioral quirks sometimes, but I'm pretty sure it's driver related.

However, I wanted to note something here, since I haven't seen this documented anywhere in all my searching online.

I had issues for months with the OEM 90W power adapter emitting a very audible, frequent clicking noise. It was most common when the battery was almost charged (e.g. >95% capacity) or fully charged, and I only heard it when the battery was installed. There was no noise when I used a non-OEM universal Kensington adapter.

After Dell sent me three replacement power adapters (the last replacement was a different model with an ungrounded power cord) and replaced the motherboard once, they finally replaced the battery itself, and that resolved the issue. The tech who came to replace by battery (they sent an onsite guy in case the mobo had to be swapped, too) mentioned that he also supports a government agency with thousands of E6410s in use, and he hadn't seen this issue before, so I doubt it's very common.

    Just thought I'd share!

You can buy on eBay or something. If you have difficulty finding one, the Latitude E6400 backlit keyboard fits perfectly on the E6410, and all the key labels are correct as well.

I installed the Nvidia 266.35 beta drivers and haven't had an issue since.

Oh I figured as much, I was just saying. Once it gets into my possession, 8 GB RAM, MomentusXT 500 GB are going in it, and I'll look into that backlit keyboard.

If you use hibernation then be aware that hibernating 8GB does take a while. With hindsight, I would probably opt for 6GB as a useful increase on 4GB.

John, I don't use hibernation or sleep, so 8 GB RAM it is!

Is the E6410 very similar to the E6400? I've used my mom's E6400 alot and I like it.

Edit: My E6410 has been shipped! Waiting for Tuesday..
