Really? Wasn't that a typo? Assuming you have Nvidia latest Geforce mobile drivers, do you have the PhysiX enable/disable option. I have it on my puny Quadro NVS 160M. I highly doubt it's not there. Yes, Nvidia does error on their website, like on their nForce motherboard for AMD 2x dual-core CPU, they said 20 USB 1.0, instead of 10 USB 2.0. Or, it can be a OEM specification. The 300 series for desktop and laptop Geforce (and the equivalent Quadro) is very OEM sided. Usually they just features disabled via drivers (so Dell drivers won't have PhysX), as it cheaper than just make a new GPU.

Planning to purchase an e6410, probably refurbished but maybe new. A few rookie questions (this will be my first notebook):
    1. Looked today at a refurb listed with 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz (1 DIMMs)
To add another 2 GB to the open slot, can I purchase any brand of memory with the same specs, or should I wait to open the laptop and then try too match the brand (and model number?) of the memory stick already installed?
For example, is there any advantage/disadvantage to using the following recommended for the e6410 by Newegg?
    Crucial 2GB 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Laptop Memory Model CT25664BC1339
    2. I don't see any Dell Outlet Business coupons available at the moment. Am I right that 25% off coupons applicable to the e6410 are the best deal offered and can be expected at some point?
    3. And as I'm not in a rush to buy, any strong opinions about waiting for release of Sandy Bridge 6420 models (February/March I read here), hoping this would substantially lower 6410 prices? (of course a risk is that I'll be impressed with the new features and want the the 6420.)
I've learned a lot from these forums. Hope I've posted in the right place. thanks in advance.

Unfortunately the fastest RAM won't do in the E6410 you bought. Only the i7 quad cores support 1333 RAM. It doesn't really make a difference though, the faster RAM speeds only yield a 5-10% performance gain in synthetic benchmarks, you will not notice a difference in real world usage.

    1) It really doesn't matter about the RAM and specs/manufacturer. If you install the RAM, it posts and passed memtest then just use it as is.
    2) Yes the Dell outlet coupons can save you a buncha money.
    3) I doubt it would substantially lower the price of the E6410, perhaps the older E6400s. Though many article state the E6420 will be 14" and 16:9 screens so maybe a reason to avoid it... :(

    thanks much for these replies.
--Not so concerned now about the exact specs for adding RAM; I'll just pick from the options Newegg gives as a match for the e6410.
--Agree that a 16:9 screen would make the e6420 less desirable for my primary uses of word processing, document and web reading.
--And you're saying the e6410 prices won't drop that much, so it makes sense to buy sooner, like when I see that good outlet coupon! (Your good review of the outlet-bought Latitude 13, and others' posts on this thread, reassures me about buying a refurb, which I've never considered doing before.)

    Hi friends,

I need help from you guys. I recently bought Dell Latitude 6410 with 320 GB hard disk. Also, bought Gskill SSD 120GB along with drive caddy.
My modular bay could recognize only dvd drive when I use either of the drives ssd or 320 hdd in normal hard disk slot. When I remove dvd dirve and place ssd drive, the os in 320 hdd couldnt recognize the ssd. Same is the case with os in SSD drive, it couldnt recognize the 320 hdd. I played around with driver from dell site changing to different bios versions, but it doenst help. Any suggestions?

Doesn't recognize it or doesn't install driver are 2 different things.

Did you go to Disk Management and see if it shows up?

I am using that same memory in my E6410, so it is compatible. However, it only runs at 1066MHz (the fastest supported by the memory controller) with timings of 8-8-8-16.
