Your ODD will likely burn discs, but I doubt there are any recovery images shipped on your system. The Dell diagnostics CD is handy for booting and testing the system hardware. And the Dell OS DVD is handy for re-installing Windows. But the latest device drivers are best downloaded from Dell.com, and they would be the only computer-specific resource.

A clean and lean install of the OS and current device drivers would be my first step.

Okay so my E6410 came in about 2 hours ago!

    Core i3-380M
    1 GB DDR3
    160 GB HDD
Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit
    Intel HD graphics

    Will be by tonight's end:

    8 GB DDR3
    500GB MomentusXT
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

I <3 how light it is, just like my D620! Just a bit heavier than my Latitude 13. :p

I just wish I had the 1440x900 screen and a backlit keyboard...

    Battery charging options.

Anyone have any recomendations for settings for preserving battery life.

I tried clicking disable battery charging but it resets on reboot.

It would be good if i could set it to only charge when it gets to 30% or something. I am concerned its constantly trickle charging as i mainly have it on the AC.

Be sure to see any options in the BIOS... perhaps just quick vs. regular charging. Quick is quicker but maybe detrimental to battery life.

I have tried searching for the Broadcom USH driver, Google yields too many conflicting results. I think I installed the wrong Dell driver as now Windows 7 doesn't boot up, might have to reimage it. That was the last driver I needed..

Did you know that Windows 7 allows you to go back in time of a file, folder, drive and even you system? No? Well you can.

To take back your system back in time and undo your BSOD problem, simply boot from Windows 7 disk provided in your laptop, then click on the "Repair Windows" link (or something like that) which can be found at the bottom left corner of the dialog box with the big button "Install".

From there, you will see a panel that will appear in a moment, and you have an item "System restore". Click on it, wait a few seconds as the disk loads the needed file, and follow the 2-3 easy step wizard.
Your personal files won't be affected. A restore point is automatically created when you:
    -> Manually create one
-> Just before you install a software
-> Just before you install a driver
-> Just before you update Windows
-> Just before you uninstall a software
-> Just before you uninstall a drive

I believe the driver you seek is Dell Control Point Security DRIVER (not to be confused with the software).
In other words, this one: Drivers and Downloads
    (For Win 7 64-bit)

Broadcom USH has to do with the DCP Security drivers, then the Intel chipset AHCI and SOL drivers, and then the DCP Security Manager. Do you need to use any the related security features?

It doesn't BSOD, it just loads straight into Startup Repair. Startup Repair runs and runs and fails. Safe Mode didn't yield anything. Dude I'm a computer technician. I already reimaged it.

I honestly don't need it but it's just the last driver that has the yellow exclamation mark. It just came with my base E6410.
