Question: How does voidtools handle indexing Outlook emails? I tried Google Desktop but went back to MS Search because I really didin't care for the way it handled Outlook indexing.

Well, add me to the E6410 "would be" owners club, after ordering in 4/18/11, I noticed a week or two later the entire product removed from the page, and thought myself lucky to have gotten one before it was discontinued. And then 3 or 4 "delays" later dell finally told me they had run out of parts (fingerprint palmrest), and tried to push me to the 6420.

I guess my only option now is to find a used/refurb 6410 that fits my customization, but I'm having some trouble, as every one I find with the features I want, seems to also have the nvidia 3100M...anyone know if the stuttering problem with that video card has been fixed yet?

I have never noticed any problems related to the video card. I use the e6410 with the 3100M as my main PC. Both connected to 2 24" panels through a dock and on the laptop screen when I'm on the go. Alls good.

I've read too much about the stuttering problem, to just ignore it, I want some others to chime in on it, like if its fixed, which driver update fixed it etc

First I've heard of a stuttering problem with the nVidia GPU.

Its a DPC latency issue that seems to be related to the powermizer feature. Doesn't just affect Dells, but also several lenovos with the card

nvidia 3100M stuttering - Google Search

most of these threads still report issues up to September of last year. I'm wondering if it has been fixed by a driver update or if people just stopped complaining about it.

I'm a student, and this is a very large purchase for me/current income level, so I want to be very cautious about it.

Also, Dreamliner, I imagine you want PMs for sales inquiries, but for some reason I cannot message you :( How many do you still have in stock?

For the record, I thought I'd report my results. (I was very worried about trying to move to a new HDD without reinstalling Windows. The worry was based on some previous bad experiences with a Lenovo T500 and a Dell 1420: They both appeared to have some kind of special boot record tracks or HDD layout or something that needed to be duplicated exactly or the new HDD wouldn't boot. At least the then-current version of Acronis True Image couldn't handle it.)

Anyway, I needn't have worried. I used Windows Disk Management to create the two partitions at the sizes I wanted on the new HDD. I made the "c:" partition Primary and Active. I used Acronis True Image Home 2010 to back up the system partition of the old HDD, then I just restored it onto the c: partition I had made on the new HDD. I didn't need to worry about the new partition being bigger than the old and I didn't need to worry about the fact that the new HDD doesn't have the Dell "recovery" partition or the small Windows 7 hidden partition (I chose not to duplicate these partitions on my new HDD). Windows booted right up the first time and has worked fine since. Nothing has changed except I have a lot more HDD free space.

Again, I was spooked by the past failures of this process with the two aforementioned laptop models. Plus, I occasionally read of problems with deleting the Dell and Windows "extra" partitions. But I was pleased to find that the E6410 behaved in this regard just like the many desktops I've built in the past. Simple and easy.
