Oh that kinda happened to me, I got abit mad... So I hanged up (Waiting in queue on my fifth department) and called again, and spoke to the first person to stop throwing me around and just transfer me to the correct department to get a replacement. Well he kinda did everything there and then, which was alot smoother then my first call. Friendly chap, each department just don't know how to handle replacements and just shuffle you across. I just blame it on the scripts and procedures.....

Wow you seem to be loving the servicing if you LOLin :O

I can't believe they're letting poor customer service mar this launch....such a shame. Good luck to everyone hoping for machine replacements!

hmm for me I didn't need to go to the "right department", cause customer care first department sorted it all out for me. Saved me repeating myself, got it sorted in less than 5 minutes. And had a new laptop less than a week... all is good.

well the 'top teir support team" called me yesterday to help me out with the issue. The guy was really nice and understanding and I actually felt like i was talking to a REAL tech and not some phone answering monkey. A replacement unit will be sent. : )

That's good to hear, atleast you got there eventually. Hopefully your replacement doesn't have this issue, I'm guessing you like the system if you going to give it a second chance. Not many people like the look at it LOL

one tech actually tried convincing me that i should not get the same laptop as it looks like there is clearly a design flaw. I then asked him why the hell are you evening selling it then and dell should really look into a fix for this common issue.

The tech that actually went through with sending a replacement unit understood the issue but then also stated it should not be popping like that. Others have reported their replacements do not have the issue at all so I'm hoping for the best with my replacement as well.
