    Dell latitude E6500
Windows xp pro with all the updates as far as I know
    Firefox 5.01

Everything working fine until a couple days ago. Shut down the computer either by closing the lid, or logging off, and the problem started directly after this the next day.

After booting up, when I click on my name it opens up what looks like the standard xp/dell screen with only a handful of icons, and it doesn't search for our wireless network like normal. All of my icons are gone.

When I click on firefox it opens google as the homepage, and all of my firefox bookmarks are gone.

My wife and son both have sign-on names on this machine as well but they very rarely use my machine. When I click on either of their two names it brings up their xp/dell screen with their icons in place, and it searches for and finds our wireless network.

What can I do to get it back to normal?

    Thanks

Did someone delete them as a practical joke? Try a system restore?

Alright, a system restore did the trick.

    Thanks
