So I ordered an E6220 from the dell outlet and I just got a notification that it has been shipped and its on its way.

I also saw one for sale locally and checked it out. I don't think its going to be worth the $700 or whatever.

Has anyone used the dell outlet return policy? They say that they'll charge a 15% restocking fee unless the system is defective.

I can probably claim that its defective if that's what it takes, but I'd rather just return it. Has anyone returned something to the dell outlet and can tell me how it works?

Can I just refuse shipment? I'm guessing that if I contact the Outlet returns people they'll tell me to accept shipment. What's the inside scoop?

You should not have a problem. Just call in and say you are not satisfied because of what ever reason and they will get a courier to come pick it up. You have to talk to the returns department and they may even offer you some cash back or a replacement that fixes an issue.

Shouldn't be one if you don't open the box upon delivery.

From what I recall... they don't charge a restocking fee on returning Dell Outlet products because they are already refurbished or scratch&dents.

That may have changed, but I returned a Dell Outlet Latitude about a year ago and the only thing they didn't refund was the shipping.

In this case the shipping was free. So i should get a full refund if I ship it back at my own expense?

If you do a return, call up Dell and they will issue you a RMA # and a prepaid FedEx shipping label.

What's funny about my return, was although they didn't refund the cost to ship it to me, they also sent me a prepaid FedEx label, so they paid for the shipping back to them.

Most of the time Outlet is free shipping. Usually they refund the invoice amount, but I guess if you opt for like express you obviously pay more. Meh Dell's Outlet has been great. I returned my Latitude E6410 and within 2 hours of me dropping it off at Fedex they credited my PayPal account (before it got returned to TN).

Did they charge you a restocking fee? What was the reason for the return?
