I saw dell introduced the Quadro FX 3600M in their Precision M6300 line ( http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=10943 ). I am looking for a 17" single 8800M laptop that isn't a Sager and I really rather not have SLI. I was wondering how these Quadro FX chips handle gaming since they are mostly made for the business side of graphics. Anyone have an idea what kind of gaming performance it would have?

Yes they are based on the 8800m, which 8800m I am not sure. But really it just that the drivers are different, more professional orientated. You can always install GeForce drivers on it so it performs like a normal 8800M :) Although the performance difference won't be all that big anyway.

XPS is SLI while precision is single GPU.

Yes, it is up there wiht the 8800 series.

I have a Quadro FX 3600M in my Precision m6300 and I get about 7963 on
    3dmark06.

And yes, I can play Crysis at Medium Quality 1920 by 1200 without anti aliassing.

So for games, yes it is a very good card. Highly recommended if you can pick one up.

    Just go for it.
