I got a latitude 13. I changed the HDD with an SSD drive the vertex 2. Problem is with the HDD bracket on the HDD it it slightly too high for the back cover to close. If I just plug in the HDD it fits fine. Now the HDD does not move at all its pretty snug in their. So I am not afraid of it moving. But I am concerned about HEAT. Do I really need that heat shield thing around it? I know their is no noise from it since their are no moving parts but what about HEAT should it be ok?

A Vertex 2 shouldn't use more power than a typical mechanical hard drive. I don't think you need to worry about the heat.
