    Hello everyone,
I just received a Dell Latitude 6520 with an HDMI port. The display driver shows just the generic pnp display with the VGA Graphics Adapter.

When I plug the HDMI cord from the laptop to my TV and/or receiver, neither device is recognizing the connection. Same for audio. Is there something I need to do to enable the HDMI port? It IS an output port, correct? What may be the issue here?

Did you click the proper function key to switch the display?

Or right click the desktop, click "screen resolution" (if you're on Windows ) and see if the second display is recognized.

If Device Manager says 'VGA Graphics Adapter" anywhere, it means the graphics drivers probably aren't installed. Go to Dell's website and download and install them.

Monitors can say "Generic PnP Monitor" but Display Adapters has to say "Intel(R) HD Graphics Family" (and "NVIDIA NVS 4200" if you have nVidia).

Yes, I have tried FN+F8 for switching the display, and have also tried connecting as an overhead projector. I do believe that the current driver is listed as a VGA adapter. I'm not at my laptop right now, but will check.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll let you know what I find! :)
